Intro

Some of us know how it feels to be an ‘Only Child’, and some of
us have no idea (even though they are secretly wishing that their
sibling will somehow disappear all together.) what it would be like.
Only they can imagine. You could say I have known how it feels for
both of these. I’m an only child, to a point. You see, there’s this guy
on my street named Kris (AkA: Fred, don’t ask, too long of a story.)
I’ve known him since from before I was one. So, you could say we
are like Brother and Sister we were so close. He’s eight years older
then I am so we don’t get into fights that much (which is good) but
sometimes I REALLY can’t understand him! When I turned nine, he
was seventeen, I fully excepted him as a ‘Fake’ Brother, or, the
Brother I Never had. At the age of twelve (2005, right now) I decided
to right a HILARIOUS story relating to ‘Fred’ and I, only you may find
it has a BIG twist to it!

Chapter 1 The Pound’s Show

“Kritz, we’ve been in this place for a month! If we don’t find a
way out soon we’re gunna die!”
“Come on, we have at LEAST 4 more weeks!” Kritz told me “We
just have to impress the people!”
Kritz and I had been arguing about are ‘Death Date’ for about a
week or so. Ever since are first owners gave us away to their friends
and they gave us away because they didn’t have enough time or
space, we were chucked in the pound.
Kritz and I have been buds, growing up together and soon we
realized we would stay with each other and so now we’re kinda like
Brother and Sister, almost, kinda. I’m a Shepard mix and he’s part
Husky part Malemute, built like a Malemute, acts like one too but
looks and has the Dark Blue eyes of the Husky. Kritz is four while I’m
only two. (14 and 28 in dog-years.)
“Kritz! We’ve talked about this already! You and I know that we
can’t impress the people unless we’re in The Window, and only the
Puppies are in The Window.” I explained. “They never put ‘Old’ dogs
in The Window.”
Kritz laughed. “Things can change all in good time.” He replied.
“What makes you think they’ll change for us, now?” I asked.
“We’re special.” he said stubbornly.
It was true. We WERE special. Probably the most special dogs
in the world. Why? Because we can speak all human Langue and all
animal Langue. We could understand Japanese. We could speak
Genie-Pig. We could travel into the deep, dense forests and ask the
Wolves for directions. We could travel to India and understand the
humans and how come the Elephants want to help them. We could
travel to a Farm and talk Pig, Horse, Cow and even Chicken. Yes, we
were like no other dogs, so why were we in the Pound? Well, we
wouldn’t be here if our Second owners had kept us a little longer to
know that we were special. We would’ve been in movies. NOT the
Pound. Funny how Life can be Hard for a Dog who wants so Little.
“Hey, hey! Look!” Kritz went to the front of our cage and peered
out at a new bulletin on the front door. “It’s important, I just know it!”
He cried excitedly his tail wagging back and foreth. “Read it for me
Biretta!” He cried his ears perched strait up.
I lumbered over beside him. “I told you NOT to call me that!” I
growled. Biretta is my real name but I like (no LOVE) everyone to call
me Bret. I’m not really the B-I-R-E-T-T-A type, I’m more of the
B-R-E-T type of girl. Get me? “Kritz, you REALLY need to learn how
to read. You’re one of the most special dogs in the World and you
still can’t read!” I sighed.
“Oh quit being my Mother!” He said rolling his eyes. “Just read
it. I KNOW it’s important.
“You mean like the time they came out with anew Dog-Food
brand?” I asked.
“NO! That had to deal with food and I can SCENSE this one is
different!” He cried.
“Alright, alright, hold onto your Dog Kibbles.” I said, And I began
to read the notice out loud.
