The Poem Of Evanescence

Now I won’t tell you what I’ve done for you…

How can you see into my eyes, like opened doors?

Perfect by nature, icons of self-indulgence….

I’m so tired of being here…

Long lost words whisper slowly to me…

I tried to kill the pain, but only brought more…

Pa-per flow-ers!

You don’t remember me, but I remember you…

Rain clouds come to play, again…

Hold on to me, now…

Catch me as I fall…

Depressed by all my childish fears…

Going under! Don’t want your hand this time, I’ll save myself. ~ I- - - ‘m dy- - - ing again! I’m going under! Drowning you!

(Wake me up) Wake me up inside! (Can’t wake up) Wake me up inside! (sa- - - ve me!) Call my name and save me from the dark!

Never was and never will be, you don’t know how you’ve betrayed me and somehow you’ve got everybody fooled!

These wounds won’t seem to heal, this pain is just too real, there’s just too much that time can not erase. You cried and I washed away all of your tears, you screamed and I’d fight away all of your fears. I held your hand through all of those years and you still held onto me…

I know you’re still here, watching me. I can feel you pull me down. Fearing you, loving you, I won’t let you pull me down! ~ Haunting you…

Am I too lost, to be saved? Am I too lost? My God, my tourniquet, return to me salvation!

I lie inside myself for hours, and watch purple skies fly over me…

To live, to breath, you’re taking over me…

Don’t try to fix me, I’m not broken… Hello, I’m the lie living for you so you can hide, don’t cry…

Holding my last breath, safe inside myself are all my thoughts of you, sweet ruptured lives are empty tonight…

I know I can stop the pain, if I will it all away, if I will it all away! Don’t turn away (don’t give in tonight). Do- - -n’t try to hide. Don’t lose your lies (don’t put your past behind you). I- - -’ll turn out the lights. . .
