Author's Note: This poem is dedicated to every kid and teenager who has been told these things, or similar things, by someone they look up to or someone they love, most commonly known as a parent or guardian, or possibly even a teacher. this poem starts from the Abuser's view, then switches to the Abused's view, in a pattern, so don't get confused. i have many friends who i know feel the way that this poem portrays, and it's horrible. every day billions of kids and teenagers are being emotionally abused.
Can You?
By Floofy 3/5/10
Can you feel me
Breathing down your neck
Can you hear me
Screaming in your ear
Can you feel me
I’m right behind you
Can you hear me
I’m telling you what to do
Can you feel me
My words stabbing your heart
Can you hear me
I’m telling you these things…
You’re worthless
You’ll never succeed in anything
You’re ugly, disgusting
Don’t even look at me
You’re so annoying
I can’t stand you near me
No one will ever love you
I wish you weren’t mine.
Can you feel me
Pounding my fists against the wall
Can you hear me
Scream into the pillows of my bed
Can you feel me
Crying on the cold floor
Can you hear me
Sobbing in a world so far away
Can you feel me
Dying in the room next to yours
Can you hear me
Asking God, Why do they say these things…
I’m worthless
I’ll never succeed in anything
I’m ugly, disgusting
Don’t even look at me
I’m so annoying
You can’t stand to be near me
No one will ever love me
You wish I wasn’t yours.
Can you feel me
Slapping your face that angers me
Can you hear me
Saying how ungrateful you are
Can you feel me
Yanking your arm towards me
Can you hear me
Ridiculing your hopes and dreams
Can you feel me
Slamming the door on your face
Can you hear me
Telling you over and over again that…
You’re worthless
You’ll never succeed in anything
You’re ugly, disgusting
Don’t even look at me
You’re so annoying
I can’t stand you near me
No one will ever love you
I wish you weren’t mine.
Can you feel me
Hiding underneath my bed
Can you hear me
Wishing I were dead
Can you feel me
My heart is slowly breaking
Can you hear me
Asking over and over again Why, oh why
Can you feel me
My heart beating slower and slower
Can you hear me
As I die, all because you told me that…
I’m worthless
I’ll never succeed in anything
I’m ugly, disgusting
Don’t even look at me
I’m so annoying
You can’t stand to be near me
No one will ever love me
You wish I wasn’t yours.
And guess what?
I made the mistake of believing you…

It's so very sad, but very well-written!
"Hey, show up with an army of undead warriors to save the day, and suddenly you're everybody's best friend." Percy Jackson, The Las Olympian :)
"You're death would be great for me." Nico di Angelo, The Last Olympian :) :) :) <3
Yeah, REALLY sad, especially 'cause it's true, and well written.
Every person's life is a fairytale written by God's fingers ~ Hans Christian Anderson
Wow this is so true. I feel so sorry for those kids out there who are abused and feel like they should be dead. Same goes for people who's parents abandoned them. Great poetry!
"After a battle blood shall stain the ground but a storm of rain will pour down and wash away all of the pain and hatred." -Saturn
Wow. This is like the epitome of realistic poetry.

this is good. I mean It's sad u kno about all of those kids who are abused... They would be happy to kno us writers and authors are spending our time thinking about them. We should appreaciate them more.
" In your mouth. What is that? A brace? A person?" Sarah asked. "No." Came my reply. "It's my fang." The room fell silent. "I'm a wolf." - Wolfman Gone Wild -York Zertha Young ( my BFF)
