Streams of sunlight filtered through my blinds, waking me up. I was late. My eyes fluttered open, and I immediately got up and ready. If I was to go anywhere today, I’d better start early. I hastily combed through my golden-blonde hair, and tied it up with a sea green ribbon, the only one I could find. Glancing up, I noticed that I hadn’t even packed yet. Dang, I thought to myself. I thought I did. As I hurriedly threw random scraps of clothing into my satchel, I reflected absentmindedly on why I was leaving. It wasn’t a pleasant memory. You see, my story resembles the ancient, varied story of Cinderella, except I’m almost positive I won’t end up with a prince charming.
