Mom: (Turns to Charlie) Sorry we have to leave you here all alone Charlie. (Turns to Jake) Jake! Come over ehre now and either say goodbye to Charlie or get in the car
(Jake doesn't move from the curb)
Mom: Jake I know moving Mexico wasn't your first choice from Chicago but you gotta trust the facts, this is supposed to help you.
Charlie: Jake, you should really listen to your mom sometimes and respect her
Mom: Yes Jake you should also respect Char- (Phone rings)(Turns to Charlie) Sorry I have to take this
Charlie: (Picks up Jake) Come on
Jake: Put me down you Jerk! (Repeatably punches Charlie)
Charlie: (Puts him down) Fine then get in the car
Jake: (Runs off down the street) I'm never coming back again!
Charlie: See you tomorrow Jake
Mom: (Hangs up phone) Charlie I don't have to be there for work for a few days, they said they would give me time to settle in. Say? Charlie why don't you finish packing everything into the car and I'll find Jake
Charlie: Okay! I'll finish packing and maybe I'll even tidy up the shop, hope you find Jake
Mom: (Runs off down the road) Jake! Jake! Jake! Come back here!
Charlie: (Comes around the corner with Jake's wrist in one hand and a key in the other) I found him sitting in the corner of the shop when I was locking up
Mom: Come on Jake! Lets go inside and talk. (Brings Jake inside)
(Scene Two)
Mom: Jake, listen. (Jake turns his head to look at the wall) No, Jake I want you to look at me and come sit on this couch right now! (Jake doesn't move) Okay, fine then hopefully your listening. Your dad will be here in the morning to get his stuff ready. Were leaving tomorrow after lunch I expect you to be up dressed and ready when I wake up, no excuses
Jake: (Still turned away) Where are my real parents. (doesn't move)
Mom: We are your real parents
Jake: Are they dead (turns an eighth of a circle toward mom)
Mom: Jake why don't you go to bed
Jake: (Goes to room) Great still nobody knows anything about my parents and I'm 15. You know she left me when I was two! They should know something. (Muttering, spitting, sobbing, breathing hard and stomping his feet loud)
Mom: Wait! Jake Come back here and sit down. (Jake sits down not too close) You know that we adopted you not knowing anything about you and that we did it out of our own hearts right?
Jake: (Walks off) I'm going to bed (walks into bedroom)
Mom: Huh, why won't he let us have this talk.
(Scene three: Morning)
Dad: (Singing and washing dishes) For when the sun rises in the mornin' I'm up all day. For when the sun sets in the night time I'm sleepin' all night-
Mom: (Comes into Kitchen) Where's Jake?
Dad: He's suprisingly up and dressed. He had breakfast early and I think he's trying to get some extra hours in at the shop.
Jesse (Girl): Hey mom! Good mornin'!
Mom: Oh hi Jesse! How have you been lately?
Jesse: Oh I've just been downtown, you know I was with my parents picking out a new maid since you quit.
Mom: Oh, I'm sorry. But were moving to Mexico today and I found a really good job there.
Jesse: Oh its fine, hey how's Jake been?
Dad: He's no different from the day we got him.
Jesse: So he still doesn't talk much ay?
Mom: Say? Jesse do you want a nice cup of Orange juice? You look hot!
Jesse: No! I got to go anyway. See you tomorrow! (Leaves)
