The Day I Got Trapped In The Lighthouse

One night I went to a lighthouse. I went up forty-two steps and got to the light at the top. Nobody was there. And then I fell asleep. I had a dream while I sleeping that I was at home sleeping. When it was time to lock the lighthouse, security guard locked the door of the lighthouse and I was still sleeping.

And then somebody that lived in the lighthouse snored very loud. So, I woke up because of the snoring. So I said, "Oh no!" It was dark and I was afraid. And suddenly, the snoring stopped.

A minute later, I heard footsteps. They were coming closer. They sounded like "clip, clop, clip clop, clip clop. I looked around but I could not find any way out of the lighthouse. There were forty-two steps in the lighthouse and I counted them.

1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7.

The sound of the footsteps got louder and louder.

8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14.

I look at the window at the top of the lighthouse and I saw ships in the distance. I tried to wave at them, but nobody could see me.

15, 16, 17, 18, 19, 20, 21, 22, 23, 24, 25

Then, by the time I counted 42 steps, I could hear the security guard opening the front door downstairs. So I ran out of the room and I ran downstairs even though the footsteps of the person coming up the stairs were getting louder and louder.

I ran down 20 steps and I saw a large shadow around the corner. So then I peeked around the corner and saw the security guard and he said, "Your parents are looking for you!" Then, I went home and my parents were very happy that I came back.
