Las Rescate: The Rescue
I heard the call slice through the morning air. Again the wail erupted the quietness of the morning. I couldn't help myself. I saw myself as I was, a green, powerful dragon, and I flew through the air. Tail whipping and slicing the air in half. Another dragon was across my trail and she was beautiful. Long white wings and white scales that shone in the sunlight. She followed me for a moment, then descended into the clouds and disappeared.
To the east is where the call was roaring from. I looked down below. Libe. I descended with the swiftness of that of a deer. Palms stretched open wide. Five feet within my grasp. Suddenly, gone. I had grasped dirt and grass. Another dragon appeared with black scales.Red and evil eyes. Libe within his palms, not mine. I roared as loud as an earthquake. So did he. A slightly open palm flew towards me. Claws punctured and swam through my flesh. My teeth tearing and ripping at the only thing keeping Libe away from me. A wail erupted from him and he dropped Libe.
He wanted to take this above the ground. On my turf. Would he win? Not a chance. Claws and teeth sliced flesh and air. Scales plumeted to the ground. Blood dripped like a fountain from us onto Libe. Hatred grew inside of me and took over me like a natural thing, like my own heart. Fire burning within my eyes and his. Adrenalin couldn't help me now, fury had taken over, pushing adrenalin out of the question. Another final slice towards the neck, right on target. He plumeted to Earth. The Earth rattled as he landed with a thump.
He lay still, not moving, possibly not breathing. I grasped Libe and watched the other dragon shrink and form back into the human that he was. We flew away through the day and blended back into the crowd that formed on the beach. "Would you quit getting yourself into trouble with other dragons? You're only an eagle for now. Heaven forbid we should come back to human form looking like him." I spoke. "He doesn't have this." He dangled a round and shiny object in front of me. "Y-you got the sphere?" "Without any trouble. Well except for that." "Once again I saved your butt. Do you even know how it works?" "All I know is that we can now form into more than just dragons. And eagles."
