Help!!!!! Need beginning of story!!!

Ok. I have the plot of my new story that I will soon post..... But I can't figure out how to start it!!!! (It'll be called Portal to the past .) Do you people have any ideas? Here's the plot! ALSO PLEASE COMMENT ON COOL TIME PERIODS SHE COULD VISIT!!! and fill in the blanks where there are any!!!!!
A high schooled girl named Maddie Thomson Finds a peice of treasure. That peice of treasure is an artifact that mysteriously takes her back in time when she touches it. It takes her to the _____________ period, where she fits into the act. while there, she'll find another artifact. That and the other artifact will peice together, and she decides to find the rest of the puzzle. Eveentually, she goes to six differtent time periods (COMMENT ON SIX!!!!!!) and then peices together all the artifacts she finds. They end up making... well, I'll let you read the book and find out! :)
Ok, now comment on six different time periods, and where should she start, and why, and when!! Please help! I might publish this. I've said that on a lot of things, but for this one I think It will be my best!!!!!!!!!!!!

popular high school girl goes with old uncle to dig fossils (she's not to happy 'bout it either) but is excited when she finds old piece of Aztecan gold. This would take her to the Aztec times.

I say she finds a quil pen and goes back to the Rennaisance in either England, France, or Italy. I <3 the Rennaisance! Or she goes back to Ancient Greece or Rome. I am doing world history in school so I have the knowledge and the text book that could help.
