So for this project I decided to write about a time traveler, but I desperately need some ideas as to what he does in the story...the story isn't going to be the length of a novel or anything, so I can't have excessively complicated plots...

R u looking for something like a Novela (I think that is how you say it) It SHOULD be the meaning of something that is shorter than a novel, but longer than a short story.
And IMMAvampireDIARIESfan!!! Is actually doing a book on time travelers, if you can get her to comment, I am sure she can help you with that.

Well it's not really a novella, its more like a long short story. Like, say 6 or 7 MWord pages long maybe?

Time travel is a very complicated subject. Are you sure you can have so much in that length?
strength: (strngkth, strngth, strnth) n. The ability to break a bar of chocolate into four pieces, and only eat one.
wellll, I can't exactly help you with a specific plot but here. In my short stories I like to have open endings, leaving the reader to wonder what happens, making them think.
So, perhaps he goes back in time. Perhaps to fix a mistake he had made in the past, or something. I really don't know. But perhaps the ending would be mysterious, break it off just as his former self is turning around to look at the future self. I don't know, I can't help you so much, plot-line is usually something that you come up wiht on your own.
Also, this kind of post, a one liner, should probably go on writer's block. There's actually a thread specifically for this! Just for future reference...
