Homeless- Please Help

I am in a car.

Everything is normal.

But then I see the man.

The man that is on the sidewalk.

Worn out clothes.

A single, tiny backpack.

And a board.

It reads:

Homeless

Please Help

I see a person give him some coins.

My mother ignores him.

How can she be so hearless?

I am about to rush up to him.

About to give him all the money I have.

Something stops me.

I stay meek and quiet.

I ignore him too.

I come home soon and weep.

e_e People are just so

e_e People are just so jaded...they just assume that they'll spend it on drugs or alcohol. But the truth is, most just say that because they're greedy. HERE'S A THOUGHT: If you're SO PARANOID they'll spend it on drugs or alcohol, then buy them a sandwich and some water or something, and give THAT to them! *headdesk* The nerve of some people... :( So greedy and rude...

I'm sorry you went through that, hon. J^:> The poem is great, though....

It's frustrating, how if a person's homeless, people just assume that they'll spend anything they're given on drugs or alcohol... I do think though a lot of the time, people just feel overwhelmed by the amount of poverty in the world and so they don't give because they feel it won't do much good in the whole scheme of things. Amd yeah, that's true. But it does do good, to that one person. Besides, if they're really worried about it, they can always give to a charity, or help out at one.

Anyways... I really like this poem. How it tells a story, and you can tell the person writing it really feels what they're writing.
Maybe you could ask your mom about donating money or something...?

Exactly. That's why you should give them a grocery store gift card or something so they can spend that...

I remember seeing homeless

I remember seeing homeless folks around my town... I saw a woman on the side of the highway once, with a sign of "will work for food". I was heartbroken; never saw her again, but I still look for her, sometimes...

:( Once we were strolling in

:(

Once we were strolling in the downtown of a city, and I saw this beautiful mother, holding 2 twin babies to her chest. She was wearing barely nothing- a coat that reminded me fairly of a paper bag. The babies weren't wearing anything, to think of it...and it was really windy that day! When my parents saw the lady (she was around her 30's) we decided to buy them some food. We went into the closest shop, which happened to be Sub Way, and bought a lot of sandwiches and wraps. We also got some of those cans of milk, juice and water. When we gave it to them..wow you couldn't imagine the mother's face! I felt so happy that day and I wish I could do it every day.

There was once a time where my mother and I saw a man in a wheelchair on the side of the road with a cardboard sign saying 'A PENNY PLEASE. GOD BLESS YOU.' We paced back to the car because my mother forgot her wallet, but by the time we came back he was gone. I was heart broken </3

Nice poem! I really liked it!

Once, my friend and I were

Once, my friend and I were going shopping for my mum to get a bit extra pocket money, and we saw this homeless man sitting by the shop with a cup and a sign saying 'MONEY OR FOOD PLEASE. GOD BLESS.'
We were so heartbroken, that we rushe din the shop, and with my pocket money that I had on me, bought him four sandwiches, three bottles of water, some chocolate for energy, and gave them to him. We then went to a charity shop, and because it was winter and the man had almost nothing to keep him warm, we bought him gloves, a wooly hat, a scarf, and some thick socks. Then we bought a reusable flask for him to keep water in. I used all my money on it, and the look the man had on his face made me want to cry with happiness... then I noticed he only had one leg, so brought him to the charity shop becaus ethey had a homeless shelter nearby, but I didn't know where, and one of the shop assistants helped him to the shelter. I never saw him again, but I like to think I made a difference...

Life is random. So am I.
This is who I am, and what I do. Deal with it.
