Insomnia

I'm sitting alone in my room -
The room is lit by the TV screen -
A show is playing, but I don't listen -
I'm typing, so I'm not too keen.
It's already past midnight
There's a silent, starless sky
I look down at my Netbook
And let out a quiet sigh.
What am I doing lounging?
Why am I sitting here?
Shouldn't I be typing
My stories that are weird?
My stories like my Silent Song,
My Pokemon Books and more,
I don't know why I cannot think
Instead I glance at the door.
My mind is utterly numb
And my thoughts are wildly swirled;
I want to go to sleep but
If I try then I will curl
Into a tiny ball and
I will never get to bed;
I want to close my eyes
And empty out my head.
Can't someone please help me?
Cure me of this working brain?
I want to truly go to sleep
But my dreams are full of pain.

Are you okay? That was really good by the way.

You're dreams are really that bad? Maybe you should talk to someone about it. Your Mom? Dad? maybe a Guidance Counsilor? Eh, just a thought. I hope the dreams go away. :( Well again, great job on the poem.

Actually, I have insomnia (I'm a slow-sleeper) and so it's hard for me to go to sleep. But yes, when I fall asleep, I tend to have nightmarish dreams.
Recently scientists have discovered that insomniacs are actually more punctual and, because they are perfectionists, they have a harder time getting to sleep at night. That describes me...
Weapon of mass destruction?! Where?! Don't tell me to put down my black ball with the sparkling rope! Ugh, fine, you can have it. Here, catch!
