CHAPTER 4
MASTER and FRAWG
“Master, I see’s it! I see the ship!”
“It’s here, is it true Frawg?”
“It is master, its comings.”
“How is this, He is not supposed to come thus far!”
“Frawg is contrite master, I sent it earlier than I was told, but, look ups its there.”
The one called master looked upward through the large glass dome at the top of the dark cave and saw the bow of an enormous ship with a sort of supernatural glow that looked as if it were a green swirling mist that surrounded the entire boat. The boat was fully submerged and quickly making its way towards the cave.
“Why am I always admitting your right?”
“Because it’s trues, I’m smarters”
“Quiet, Frawg!” he said and gave Frawg strong knifelike swat on the head with his sharp metal studded chain mail fist. “Never say such a thing ever again, understand!?”
Frawg stumbled backward into the stone wall where he slumped down rubbing his hand against the gash Master had just given him, still looking dazed and said,
“Master mustn’t be harsh with Frawg, you hurts his brain.”
The one called master bent over and looked Frawg straight in the face and said, in a sharp whisper, “ Did you here what I said, do you understand me?”
“Yes Masters I understands,” answered Frawg meekly.
“Well, we mustn’t merely bask, we ought to make ready the dome for interception before the vessel…” but it was too late for them to do anything for at that very moment the Karrkaroe came crashing through the glass dome. Shards of glass, both small and large were fleeting off in every direction. A few even hitting the stalactites and knocking them from the cave roof. Although, oddly enough no water fell from above.
Frawg was galloping out of the way while master uttered the atypical words of an ancient spell and all the shards and pieces of broken stalactites and glass that had been raining down like fire-works only seconds ago were now levitating inches above him.
As for the ship, it had taken a nose dive into the ground.
**********
Daniel woke to the faint sound of voices around him. He was sore and felt quite ambiguous, although he tried to focus as best he could to here what the voices were saying.
“Master, what’s shall we do’s with the, the things!?”
“Hmm, the human scum; I’ll take care of that later,” replied Master as he nudged his foot right up against Daniels cheek, and then gasped.
Daniel had to fight hard not to budge even an inch, but it was too late, “Master, I, I thinks it’s moving.” Daniel was now in a slump trying not to arouse any further attention.
“It is the very last Karr; Frawg your help is well appreciated, despite your sending disobedience you have brought him to me.”
“Master, it is a pleasure for Frawgs,” he said bowing.
“Come, Frawg, we will discuss this together.”
Daniel was obviously befuddled by what the voices were saying, and could make out only two names Master and Frawg.
