Little Mark was a 13 year-old boy. Being the son of a merchant he ventured to many different places. Whether it was a lost island out in the middle of nowhere,or distant countries with many foreign people, like Indians, Tribesmen, and many others. One day, Little Mark and his father were sent on a not so LITTLE quest.

"Mark!" called Marks father from a tent out on the coast of Africa. "Saddle up your horse!" he yelled as he folded up a map of the world and tossed it into his knapsack.

Mark huffed as he placed his dagger in the sheath on his left hip and pulled himself onto "Old Bruiser". "Old Bruiser" as they called him, was a brown horse with a mane that ran down his whole body. I bet your imagining how he got the name "Bruiser". As a young colt, (raised in California) he was beaten by his first owner who was a cruel drunkard.

"Ride north to Egypt!" screamed father as he pulled the leather reigns on "Bull" his horse.

They rode up the coast, traveling through Ethiopia and the Sudan and came to Egypt. A great wall guarded the gates of the Egyptian city. There were two Egyptian men guarding the city's gate.

"Merchant`Okla, back so soon? I see you have brought a relative along with you this time." said one of the Egyptian guards. "Your father has told us much about you," said the other Egytian as he pulled Mark of Bruisers saddle. They opened a large door, the door to the city. Before Marks feet, rather than sand lay brick. The path at his feet was made of red brick bordered by marble. Mark looked up and for the first time, he saw something he thought he would never see, a huge pyramid, burial ground of an ancient pharoah.

Marks mouth widened as he stared, and then his father whispered into his ear. "Watch your step."
