Mark reached out to grab his fathers hand, but was swept off his feet by a trapdoor in the brick path. "Ahh!" screamed Mark as he fell down a dark tunnel into a large dirt room. The room was pitch black, with no light anywhere. "If only I could reach my matches," Mark said as he shoved his fingers down into his pocket. Mark was stuck on something, or perhaps something was stuck on him. Mark could not figure it out.

"Got 'em!" he screamed as he pulled a matchbox from his pocket and held it up in front of his face. He slashed a match on something hard, and it lit. He discovered that he was not in some normal "room", he was in an ancient TOMB. To his surprise it was not a spider web he was stuck in, it was a mummy he was stuck to... and the mummy was ALIVE.

The mummy grunted as he pulled Mark back into his grasp. Mark pulled his dagger out of his sheat and slashed at the mummys arm with all his might. "Grrr!!!" yelled the mummy as it released Mark. Mark looked for a way out of the tomb. "There has to be a way out of here." said Mark.

All of a sudden, Mark spotted a door with ancient writing on it. He pulled it open, went through and slammed it shut. The door lead him directly back to his father. "I'm back!" Mark screamed. His father leaped out to catch Mark in his arms. He squeezed him tightly.

"Dad, you should have seen it! It was dark, there was a mummy and..." Mark babbled

But his father interupted. "Calm down- you can tell me all about your adventure over dinner. I want to hear EVERY detail." Dad pulled the map from his knapsack and they snuck off together, down the dark path of the Egyptian city guided only by the moonlight.
