Chapter One: Back To Business
“Welcome to Disney’s Wilderness Lodge! Where everything is way out west!” A cast member greeted Rob, Jenna, Gwyn and I.
That’s right! We are back! Ever since MONORAIL came out, we’ve been flooded with fame, fortune, and fabulousity, as Jenna likes to call it.
We’ve been to so many places since you last saw us. And, hey, we’re one year older, except for Gwyn. Gwyn’s birthday is in just a few weeks.
Which means… we graduated! Graduation was wonderful. And of course, we set the gym up since we were the “bomb”, as Jenna also likes to say.
Ever since we had graduated, Disney has been begging us to come for a visit. How could we say no?
We packed our things and headed right for Orlando. Once again, no PARENTS! Just, one little detail I forgot to mention.
Leah.
My mom and dad said that they really would love it if I would bring Leah along. I bet they said that because they wanted to get rid of her for a month.
Disney also gave us a month to stay! AWESOME!
So how could I turn down Leah’s little, lovable, adorably disgusting face?
I did.
However, my parents said I had to bring her along after I said I’d rather eat my dog Tanner’s poop.
So, I guess I should say that the cast member greeted Rob, Gwyn, Jenna, the devil, and me.
“Thank you,” Gwyn thanked the cast member in the same cheery and sweet voice I loved.
Did I mention that Gwyn and I are kind of… boyfriend and girlfriend?
Well, she hasn’t said its official yet, but I think it is. Hopefully.
The cast member walked away.
At least she wasn’t crazy like Niceness Lady.
Niceness Lady is another story in another book.
“Okay, who is going to check in?” Rob asked us all. He hadn’t changed much. He still had his yellow lab blonde hair, with his tiny little body. However, during the middle of 8th grade, he had a pimple infestation.
“I will,” Jenna volunteered. She hadn’t changed either. She still wore sundresses and had fiery red hair. “Okay, here is all the info for the reservations,” I said, handing Everything Nice a black binder my dad had given me.
“Thanks,” she said, leaving to go check in for all five of us.
And yes, we were staying at the Wilderness Lodge, a giant pioneer, out west, Wyoming resort. It was much different from our experiences at The Grand Floridian.
The Grand Floridian had a bunch of couples staying there, and it was a bit more… elegant.
The Wilderness Lodge was a lot more laid back, and there were a lot of kids staying there also.
“So, we know our bags aren’t going to get here for a while, so, what shall we do?” Leah asked, throwing herself into a couch.
“Throw you into the fire place?” Rob suggested.
“Nah, to harsh. What about we go somewhere, like, a restaurant? Gwyn, your sister didn’t pull over even once when I yelled out that there was Mc Donald’s!” Leah complained.
“I can’t help it if my sister is like a dog trying to drive! Did you see her almost throw our car into the lane going the OTHER way?” Gwyn asked.
“I didn’t see that, but I am pretty sure that is what caused me to get carsick and throw up,” Rob said.
“Pleasant,” Leah commented.
“Fine then, we’ll go get a bite. Since it was your idea, why don’t you tell us where you want to eat,” I said to my sister.
“Well, is there somewhere I can get a filet minion? Dad hasn’t cooked one in ages!” Leah said.
“Of course Leah. Would you like some caviar? You are paying with your Key To The World Card, though,” Rob said.
A Key To The World Card is kind of like a credit card. It is your room key too. It also lets you enter the parks.
“I can’t have one, remember? I’m not considered mature enough by the council of elders,” she groaned.
“Otherwise known as your parents,” Rob was sure to put in.
“Well, we could go to the Hollywood Brown Derby. They have steak,” Gwyn said.
“Hey guys, I just remembered something. We don’t have reservations for ANYWHERE!” Rob said.
Last year, when we came here on a class trip, Disney was sure to give all us kids reservations for any restaurant in Disney World. Now, we didn’t have any.
“Rob’s right. Unless we want to eat quick service meals every night, we better find out if we have reservations,” I said to the group.
They all nodded their heads.
“Hey guys!” Jenna said as she walked over to us from the check in desk. She handed us all Key To The World Cards.
“Thanks,” Leah grumbled.
“You guys, remember how last year we had reservations for any restaurant in Disney?” Jenna reminded.
“Join the club,” Rob mumbled.
“Well, I just found out that Disney has done it again! I guess if they hadn’t, we’d be dead,” Jenna said. “Apparently, it was all set up for us before we came!”
The Lifesaver.
