Chapter Three: The Terror

“Listen here. I want to go to Downtown Disney today. Okay?” Leah was getting on my nerves. I stared at her, waiting for her to say something nice instead.

It wasn’t going to happen.

“What’s the magic word?” I sighed, packing a backpack with sunscreen, hats, and cameras.

“Abra kadabra. Why the sticky buns are you asking me? You’ve always been a dork,” she said.

“I meant the word please!” I said.

“Downtown Disney’s fine with me,” Gwyn said, throwing my Rays baseball up and down in her chair.

“I’m cool with it. How about you Jenna?” Rob asked.

“I’m fine with it also. So I am assuming we are having cereal boxes for breakfast,” Jenna said.

“You assumed correctly,” I said to her, packing five cereal boxes.

“Lets go then,” Gwyn said, handing out our Key To The World cards.

We all headed out of our two-bedroom villa with the backpack that I had packed for us. Then, we went outside and boarded a bus going directly to Downtown Disney.

When we arrived, we entered through the Marketplace entrance. Then, something caught Leah’s eye.

“What the bananas! Do you see that balloon! It’s giant! And it has characters on it! Teej, we have to go on it! Pretty, pretty, please!” Leah begged us.

There, right in the middle of Pleasure Island was a giant hot air balloon tethered to the ground. I remembered reading about it online; it was called Flight by Aerophile.

The truth is, I want to go on it. However, let’s see Leah squirm a little more.

“I don’t know Leah. Let’s just go explore instead,” I said, beginning to enjoy taunting her.

“I promise, I’ll be nice for the rest of the trip!” She begged.

This is awesome. “Okay then,” I said, giving into her pleas :).

“Thank you so much,” she thanked me, leading the rest of us to the balloon. “You know, I really, really hate the way you dress.”

“Good luck with that niceness thing,” Jenna assured me.

Then, we got up in the balloon. The balloon slowly rose into the air, and the more we rose into the air, the more Gwyn wanted to hold my hand and snuggle with me.

“So, maybe tomorrow we can… go out to eat together,” she whispered to me.

“Maybe. I think we’ll have fun this summer,” I said to her.

“I do to,” she whispered.

I pulled her in close and positioned my lips to kiss her on her lips.

“Whoa! Gwyn!” Jenna yelled, peering over the side of the balloon. “I think I see a runway! Do you seriously think… do you know what this means…”

Gwyn ran over to Jenna and yelled “FASHION SHOW! EEEEEEEP!”

My (perfect) kiss was ruined.

When we arrived on the ground Jenna and Gwyn and Leah went in front of Rob and me and ran to where Jenna spotted the runway.

It was a fashion show, and there were dozens of folding chairs set up for it. There was a huge banner that said PICKLEMON FASHION SHOWS.

“Picklemon? Isn’t that the snobby rich girl that used to go to your school? She lived in Los Angeles, right, but she was visiting her grandparents?” Leah asked me.

“That snobby rich girl? I should’ve known all Millers are jealous of the rich, and hot, except for the little girl,” all of us heard an all to familiar voice coming from behind us.

“Penny! What are you doing here?” Jenna asked the little brat.

“What does it look like I’m doing? I flew in from Los Angeles yesterday to help my mom with a fashion show she’s doing here. She doesn’t design clothes, she just organizes the shows. Guess what? I’m staying the rest of the summer too!” Penny shrieked.

“That’s great…” Rob moaned.

“Well, where are you staying?” Gwyn asked Penny.

“Oh, I’m staying in an all exclusive suite off of Disney property,” Penny answered. She looked at us like we had been best friends since birth.

“Um, guys… where’s Leah?” Jenna asked all of us. We looked around. Leah was nowhere to be seen.

Then, we heard a roaring noise, and Leah came into sight. The first thing that caught my eye was a Harley Davidson store. The second thing that caught my eye was a stand with two motorcycles lined up, with space for one more. Then, I saw Leah. She was riding a motorcycle, with employees chasing after her.

She started to go up a ramp that lead to the runway. I noticed a tiny blade on the bottom of the motorcycle that was ripping up the runway.

“What are you doing?” Penny freaked out as Leah powered down the motorcycle.

“I’m riding a motorcycle! What does it look like I’m doing? I’m not pluckin’ chickens,” Leah said as employees dragged the motorcycle away and sternly corrected Leah and told her to stay away from the store.

“You ruined the RUNWAY! You are going to PAY for this, literally!” I shook my head no at that one. Then, a smile crossed Picklemon’s (Pinkelmon’s) face. Not the kind of smile you get when you’re happy. It was the kind of smile you got when you have a devious plan. “Well… you could step in as the Swedish fashion designers that designed the clothes and tailored them… they have dwarfism. They got terribly sick, you see. They absolutely HAVE to be at the fashion show.”

“No way! We aren’t going to act like we are Swedish fashion designers that have dwarfism. Besides, we don’t have dwarfism,” Rob said.

“Yes, but you do look like you have it,” Penny said.

“The answer is N-O. NO! No way Jose,” I said.

“Then, I guess since you refuse to pay, you’ll just have to go to JAIL.” Penny said, emphasizing on the word jail.

“T.J., I really don’t want to go to jail! Jail is where all of the drug dealers, murderers, stabbers, shooters, bombers, terrorists, and bad guys go. I really don’t want to go there!” Gwyn begged me.

We had no choice unless we wanted to be peeing and pooping in metal toilets.

“That’s what I thought. I’ll be paying for the runway then,” Penny said deviously.
