New Kid

Katrina Yeller sat forlornly on the porch. She had long, dirty blond hair and indigo eyes. She was a very pretty girl, on the inside and out. But no one could be her friend this summer. She would just have to wait until school started in 3 weeks.
This new town was so much sleepier than New York City. You couldn't walk to school or the market, or anything. Kat, as she was called, didn't think she was ever going to make a single friend. Besides, of course, her dog, Crazy. But it turned out that Crazy would be the one that helped her meet Frankie.

No one liked Frankie Meadows. He was one of those School Nerds that everyone avoided. Frankie had black hair, the kind that's all waxed down. He had bright blue eyes that bursted with knowledge. He wore thick, owl face glasses. He was thin, as 7th graders go. And he lived right next door to The New Kid. He thought he might have a chance to make friends with The New Kid, since she didn't know he was a Nerd.

"Kat, Crazy dug up my flowers again!" said a very exasperated Mom, " You have to buy a tie down for him." Kat nodded. A few minutes later she popped out the door, alerting Mom that she was biking to the pet store. There she waited in line. It seemed like forever. Finally, a boy about her age said, "Can I help you?" She told him what she needed, and he got her the perfect Tie down, a Doggtie-7000, the best brand. She got to talking to the boy, and found out that his name was Frankie Meadows, he lived next door, and he was in her grade. She had found a potential friend!

Later, Frankie told his parents all about Kat. She was the nicest person he had ever met, and the prettiest one who had talked to him. His parents were so proud of their son for finding a friend.
Later, Katrina told her parents all about Frankie. Her parents were glad that their daughter had made a new friend in Georgeville.

Epilouge- Katrina and Frankie did become best friends. In fact, they went to the same high school and college and stayed best friends for the rest of their lives. Frankie always wanted to ask Kat to marry him, but he was too shy, so Kat married someone else. They both always regretted it.
