A Paper Heart

I finger the edges,
The edges lightly pressing
My fingers
I stare at it blankly,
The jagged edges of a
Paper heart
I grab a pair of scissors
And cut and cut the
Paper heart
Now it looks perfect
Like how I wish my
Life could be
I envy the paper heart
And in my fury, I rip the
Paper heart
The heart looks familiar
It reminds me of
My own heart
