I Love You
By RayneWolf
The moon shines
in the night.
and the lake reflects
the stars.
Here we are,
standing side by side.
And you still can't say
you love me?
Why?
You caress my cheek,
and then our lips meet.
I love you,
I say it everyday.
But you never say
it back.
Do you not love me?
Or are you afraid?
"Of what?" I ask
as you stare into my
misty blue eyes.
"I'm afraid that if I say,
'I love you,'" you reply,
wiping away a strand of hair
from my pleading face.
"That I will lose you
and the pain will be
unbearable."
"You'll never lose me,
my love." I whisper in your ear.
You smile suddenly
and the sun seems to be
released from the nights clutches.
"Then I am not afraid to say,
'I love you.'"
