Poem- My Place
in NSW
November 11th, 2009
There is a place in the world,
With chip packets littering the trees,
I can see the footpath there,
But the footpath can’t see me-
My Place
There is a dusty, dirty creek,
Though once I could see to the bottom,
And there the birds will chirp and sing,
Though their song is long forgotten-
My Place
It sits nestled in the corner,
Of a main intersection,
Overgrown, a shadow of its former,
Requiring much protection-
My Place
So I sit and listen to the noise,
Of nature drowned out by cars,
But despite all I love it still,
Nothing else is on its par-
My Place
