A Portrait of My Desk

Resting on my desk like a king on its throne is my laptop. He breathes mechanically and is tired from my constant typing, but he doesn't know that he keeps my art. In the bulging folder labeled "Documents", he keeps my soul safe and sound. Pencil shavings are strewn everywhere and a composition book is opened to a page bombarded by messy handwriting and pointless doodles. A picture frame stands in the corner at my attempt to be normal, but there is no picture in it. A Kleenex box labeled "My Name is Fernando" holds out a tissue for me in case I ever need it. Books are stacked beside my laptop, as if to feed my literary mind by osmosis. An empty wallet serves as a paper weight and a ukulele whispers at me to be played, to let it talk.
I wake up with a yawn and sit down at my desk, my old friend. I type in "kidpub.com" and my day begins.
