A Prayer of Thanks

Before I lay my head to rest,
I think of the life the good Lord
has blesseth me with.
And every night before I lay,
I try to thank Him while I pray.
For my family and friends,
and intelligence He sends.
For my fair wealth and books,
and a love that is all I can taketh.
For sweet music to break all silence,
in the forms of my baby cousin's laugh,
or that of my dog barking his attendance.
I thank Him for scaring away all
nightmares, and giving me fair dreams.
I thank Him for each day I am given,
and for His protection it comes with.
Not for me alone, but for all I love.
I thank Him for all of this, or atleast try.
But the one thing that always enters,
is thankfulness for the happiness He bestows
upon me, each day.
Amen
