A Real Life Cinderella

Her dress was a pair of bootcut jeans and Adidas flipflops
she was crying when he saw her run right by
loosing her shoes...just like the story book said
she wasn't late
she wasn't going to be caught in the act
she just wanted to far away from where she was
to be alone...
He'd broken her heart
clear in two
a jerk disguised as a lover
she was just another prize on his wall
notch on his belt
Splitting her well trained heart right in two
She tried to move on
day in and day out
wasn't working too well
her first two classes she had with him in the room
harassing her every time that he got
Pushing her in the halls
staring her down
it was like going through hell everytime he was around
Till that one night in the one fall of her freshman year
she stared in her mirror wandering what would happen here
the dress she picked out on a night out with friends
after hours and hours of trying on so many trends
she didn't need a prince to be happy tonight
she had all her friends
till that one boy guided her to the floor
she knew him from somewhere
but still wasn't sure
he sewed her heart back together
when they glided to the song
everything that hurt
didn't hurt anymore
He loved her smile and her laughter
her touch and her skin
the way that she kissed him when ever he grinned
That night she was Cinderella
like she used to pretend when she was five
free of all her evil stepsisters
and full of self confidence and pride
she had a prince all to herself
he was one of a kind
and her once broken heart was mended
in a real life once upon a time.

That poem was amazing! I love how you compare real life with fantasy and when you put them together, explaining every detail! It was amazing! I loved how you explained her laugh..the clothes she wore...keep writing!!!!!!
