A Rose Frozen in Nitrogen, and the Shotgun that Killed it.

A Rose Frozen in Nitrogen, and the Shotgun that Killed it.

in in my tiny cubicle / private vacuum with books and random dancing

April 1st, 2011

It was just a whirlwind romance

That I never thought would last

I gave you your one chance

And you blew it pretty fast

This love of ours was a rose

Coated in liquid nitrogen

Immersed till it truly froze -

A symbol of eternal love.

Forever.

And then - some wicked monster -

Oh, distance and time -

Had to separate the him from her,

Oh - ye heavens, such a savage, cruel crime.

For then you took a silver bullet,

Shot it through the rose,

Tragically, beautifully, shattered it.

And I had to watch, with mine own eyes, my perfect world explode.

The little petal parts all strewn

On the sidewalk where you ended it;

I just want to forget it all

Don't want to remember one bit.

You said - on the sidewalk - the distance was ruining us,

That phone calls didn't make up for lost time,

And so our rosy romance was severed -

Once so perfect, so eternal, so...forever.

Wow...this is really

Wow...this is really beautiful. I love your metaphor "rose coated in nitrogen." Great job on this. I truly love it, it's so inpiring.

The true meaning of love... Cross my heart, hope to die...
