She Wore A Glove

She wore a glove
Just one, just for luck
Her fingers fumbled anyway
The entire world was lightning struck
He watched the waves
As they slipped and they slid
Watery ash sprayed on the sand
As the waning sunlight would skid
She fell in love
Just in case
But she was never a track star
And couldn’t keep the pace
He saw the sea
It trembled and it growled
He was no trapeze artist
And the whips of wind howled
She tried to grab his hand
But instead he grabbed her glove
He fell into the crack-whip sea
And she never found her love
The cracks of waves
Held his hands that day
She cried at evil irony
As the sea took him away
She wore a glove
Just one, just in case
But he was gone and she was not
She could never keep the pace
She wears a glove
Every day, every day
She cries for love lost at sea
‘Till the sky will take her away
Let’s hope they meet again someday

You're on a roll! Awesome poem! I love the tone of this poem in particular, just down to earth and serious, as if you're right there!

The irony!
Nice going, Gingy. It made me laugh, in a sort of sick, sardonic, twisted way. :D
Thanks! Your comment made me laugh...in a good way of course. ^^
