Chapter Nineteen

Ryan

A/N:  Sorry for the wait, guys.  I got grounded, then my Internet stopped working, and then I needed to catch up.  But I’m back, and so is SIP!!

There was a momentarily blinding flash, then, in Rosie’s place, a humanoid figure with blonde hair on her scalp, a whole different complexion, battle armor, and white skin stood.  I stepped back, then stumbled on a boulder.

“Whoa!  Whoa!”  I exclaimed.  “What just happened?!”

“This is my true form.  We are a shape-shifting breed from, as I told you, Tatoderaan.”

“Terra Firma?  Like off Daniel X?”  I asked.  “But that’s alien for Earth!”  I staggered to my feet, still walking backwards.

“No, stu.  Tatoderaan.”  She shot back.

“My name ain’t Stu.”  I said.

“Stu isn’t just Stu, stupid.”  She said, rolling her eyes as I realized she was quoting off Daniel X:  Watch the Skies, my favorite book.

I stopped.  “Prove it.  Prove you didn’t set up a holographic projector or something as an optical illusion.”

“Okay, concentrate on any animal, or living thing.  Just concentrate real hard.”

I closed my eyes and concentrated on an African Elephant.  The first thing I noticed was my skin got hard and gritty.  Then I started growing.  I opened my eyes to find myself a three ton gray baby elephant.  I exclaimed my surprise through a roar.

“Now concentrate on turning human.”

I tried to.  But I was too wound up.  She put her hand on my leg.

“Concentrate.”  She insisted.

All of a sudden my mind was wiped clean of doubt, and in a flash, I was human again.

“How’d you do that?”  I asked.

“Do…”  She stopped.  “I smell your FOSTER parent coming.”

Just then, a band of people, all in black raiment’s, jumped out of the trees.

Rosie pulled me aside.

“Those are the Tatoderaan outlaws.  They came for me and you.”

“THOSE are outlaws on your… I mean our… planet?  Yeah, and I’m a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle.”

In a flash, I turned into a giant turtle.  Michelangelo, to be exact.

“I was being sarcastic, but I guess… COWABUNGA!”

I kicked one across the face, hit another in the stomach with my weapon, then a giant blast came from behind me, disintegrating the rest.  I turned back to see Rosie, her normal, human self again, with steam coming out of her hands.  I gaped at her, but didn’t ask questions about that.

“Why are they after us?”  I asked, my adrenaline seeping in my voice.

“Your Earthly father put together all the outlaws on Tatoderaan to overthrow the Kings and Queens of our world.  There are two parts of Tatoderaan.  Dissia, and Questhes V.  Dissia resembles the sea, oceans, and sea creatures imported from most planets in the Miesas Galaxy.  Questhes V resembles land and land creatures from most planets.  Making sense now?”

I nodded.  “Yea.  I think so.”

“He planned a perfectly executed plan to slaughter our parents.  It worked like a charm.  But not before they sent us away.  Me, Druint, princess of Dissia, and you, Domic, prince of Questhus V.  There.  I said it. Did you understand it all?”

“Yeah.  Just one question:  Am I losing my mind?”
