My dad is asleep in his room,
My fan is whirling hard,
My eyes are screwed shut tightly,
What light leaks in is in shards.
It's once again a sleepless night,
I'm going without rest;
And if I drop off slowly,
Fierce nightmares are my best.
I feel as if ground's dropping away;
My eyes are hung with shade;
I want to fall asleep now but
Insomnia's got it made.
As tired as I am, you see,
I simply cannot sleep;
I close my eyes and try to rest and
My tiredness piles in a heap.
I write these poems to help me rest,
But they simply have no use,
Each night I'm still up all the time,
As if my parts were loose.
I've already told my parents,
But they honestly don't care;
They say it's not insomnia,
They say I just have flair...
I don't understand them;
I'm so tired I could shriek,
But since I can't convince them,
I must act quiet and meek.
Goodnight, Kidpub... I hope you sleep better than I will.

Aww I'm sorry to hear that! :( I know how you feel. I hate those nights. Anyway, I hope you sleep better and great job on the poem. :)
