The Snoots

A wealthy town,
Named Ranscoots,
Contained a noun,
People; the Snoots.

To and fro,
Shoppers went.
The prices were low,
They spent every cent.

Christmas came and gone,
Another year diminished.
Yet with no snow on the lawn,
Christmas seemed quite unfinished.

What the Snoots,
Did not understand,
Was they had boots,
And toys of an expensive brand.

The next year came,
Christmas rolled by.
It was just the same,
They stared at the sky.

The Snoots wondered why,
Snow crystals wouldn't fall.
They asked,"By the by,
Is there a reason for this stall?"

An idea came clear,
To those who could think.
This is just mere,
Let's go to Lonjink.

Lonjink was an average city,
With average people,
Those who weren't witty,
And worked for Brad Keeble.

Around the cheerful time of year,
They packed and left.
Owning nothing but fear,
Fear of treachery and theft.

They decided to live there,
In average Lonjink.
Some thought it was fair,
Others went bombink!

The worked for a living,
In Brad Keeble's office.
The pleasures were skiving,
The fumes were nauseous.

T
hey wanted to go back,
To good old Ranscoots,
But they had the knack,
oh yes, the Snoots.

They kept looking,
For clues and such.
They needed cooking,
And more, much!

Bad times came,
And it was hard.
But they kept their name,
And a credit card.

One Christmas came,
And the Snoots found,
They had no game,
No toy mound.

They were the Snoots,
Working long and harsh,
To get back to Ranscoots,
Away from this marsh.

Finally, one day,
It came to be,
The Snoots could say,
"We've got money!"

The good old Snoots,
Left without hesitance,
Back to Ranscoots,
To their old residence.

Christmas came by,
They expected it to pass,
Just like a sigh,
Without a gasp.

Very wrong they were,
The Snoots.
For clouds were coming,
Right to Ranscoots!

On Christmas day,
They closed their blinds,
And enjoyed their stay,
Relaxing their minds.

One Snoot
Stepped here,
Into Ranscoots,
And let out a cheer.

Snow was finally here,
In Ranscoots.
So was cheer,
Amongst the Snoots.

Christmas cheer,
And merry laughter,
Wine and beer,
A happily ever after.
