Kathryn in my room, in my p.j's, listening to Taylor Swift, stuffing my face with popcorn, with my gecko on my head playing games with my ferret... Ahhh... Saturday.. |

Hello, so here are some shorticles for some stories I might write, If you do not know what a shorticle is, Its a paragraph or two from a book, it can be from the beginning, middle, or end. Please vote on which one you like the most cause one of these is going to be my new story.
1. My lake
I floated aimlessly across the bank, wandering nowhere. I had nowhere to go. No one to see, it was a sickening life being a ghost, but it was the life I lead, and I couldn’t change that now. I sat lonely on the sand, and watched the gentle current of the water, move in, and out, carrying sand, and green sea grass with it. I picked through my long, and raggy white hair. How long had it been? I looked at the sand, I had drew marks to show each day. Two years to the day, had it really been that long. Had I suffered without an importance for two years? It seemed like so much longer.
Mist engulfed the shore, and trees along the bay. No one ever came out to the lake. It was my lake, and I was the only one here.
The days dragged on, and everyday, I would make my daily rounds to the shore, and mark another day gone. Another day that went floating away with the mist, and I wish I could go floating along with it.
2. The cave of hidden gems
I took one step after another, slowly feeling my way through the dank cave. I could see the light disappearing behind me, as I walked farther in. I couldn’t give up looking, I had spent way to long. Stalagmites, and stalactites crawled up, and down the cavern walls. I could feel the essence of little bats with yellow eyes staring at me, as they stayed hidden in the protection of their home. I slowly moved my torch back, and forth before me, I wasn’t afraid of monsters in the dark, I was more afraid of the darkness itself. Sweat dripped of my brow as I crept deeper, and deeper into the cave. I saw a faint glisten in the distance, could it be the hidden gems, I had spent years searching for? Or was it just a trick of the light? I hurried towards the sparkling object. Gems scattered the ground, pink ones, blue ones, red ones. Every color imaginable. I smiled in delight, these must e worth a fortune. I would become so rich. I picked up one of the glistening marvels. This was amazing!
A faint sound in the distance, stopped my fantasy. I fell silent, and listened. I heard footsteps coming up to me. I held me torch up high, and mumbled to myself, we have company.
3. The lone girl
AN: Sorry the grammar isn't good, but that's the way she speaks
I hear them talking, coming towards home, they speak their strange language, they look at me strange. But no they are the strange one. With their fancy clothes that dress their body perfectly, I stand here alone wearing, and oversized shirt. It that used to belong to my mother. She is gone, gone somewhere better my papa always said. I guess he is there too. I climb up my tree. I like the sound of that my tree, my home, my woods. The woods is my mom, I share it with the birds, but that is it. No one comes near me, cause I am different, and they are afraid of difference. Sometimes they hold weird contraptions, bad stuff I know. Little things that light up, and makes odd sounds. The people are addicted to this thing. Especially the small ones with short hair. I never want to hold one of those things, they are bad for you.
The rain falls down on my shoulders, I let it. I welcome it with open arms. I love the rain. If I feel happy I dance with it. And make them weeping clouds feel better. If I sad then I cry with the clouds, ‘till I feel all cried out, and happy.
4. The soccer girl
I love soccer, it was my life, until of course I broke my leg, then my life became sitting around doing nothing. I had to walk with crutches, and I got nowhere. I couldn't run around, or play with friends, but worst of all, I couldn’t play soccer. This was the worst part of my life. I would miss the big tournament. I stared blankly at the TV acting as though the blank show was the best thing on. My best friend Hailey suddenly burst in the room. We had been best friends since 1st grade, she was my personal slave till my leg got better, and my soccer scribe.
“What happened today at practice?” I asked her.
“Same old thing,” she replied nonchalantly.
I grunted as I response. She sat down on the bed like usual, and turned on the TV scrolling through the channels.
“What’s up with you, you’re very quite,” Hailey asked
I shrugged. “I guess its just cause I haven’t been on the field lately.”
She nodded in return, and started to trace my cast with her finger like she always did. I watched her intently, she was always so interesting to watch.
Her face suddenly brightened up, and she smiled, like a light bulb just went off in her brain. “I know how to fix that.”
