Chapter One: Fashion Tips
Brrrrrrrrrrrrring! The loud bell rang. I dashed out of the classroom and into the parking lot. “Must … Find… Molls!” I chanted. Then I saw Caroline, Meig, and Molls waving at me. I ran toward them. As I approached them a nasty voice sounded in my ear.
“Big vote today, huh Warrenstein?” snickered Brittany LaVauge.
“Yea and you’re not invited!!!” I retorted.
“Did you hear that, Claire? We’re not invited! Oh,” she said. “and just because I’m nice, red looks awful with that blue.” They snickered off. “Just because I’m nice…” I mimicked.
I wandered off to Caroline, Meig, and Molls. We belong to a singing/club group called ‘Sugar and Spice’.
Molls- age 16. Only one who drives. Red convertible.
Caroline- Age 16.Lives in a mansion. Has 2 brothers.
Meig-Age 16. Only one who can make Corey obey.
Gracey-16. Has 1 brother, 1 sister. A very funny girl, I’m told.
Our club meetings started to get boring, because we could never decide who would be the leader! So we finally decided on all the people who would get to vote on President, Vice President, and Secretary. The one left out would be the advertiser.
“We’re here! Now all we have to do is wait for your brother Braden, Molls, Your two brothers Thomas and John, Caroline, Your younger brother, Daniel, Meig, and My older brother, Corey, and younger sister, Little Caroline.” I announced. Everyone of us was going to vote for themselves as President, of course, but we didn’t
get to vote, so it didn’t matter.
“I invited some people over here, too. Ms. Lily Kay and Mrs. Rita Spinelli.” Said Molls.
Chapter 2
The Biggest Vote ever
“Alright, People!” yelled Molls. “Time to get started on the vote for President!” One by one, the people made their way up to the voting box. Molly came out and ripped open the ballot box. (Each one of us had brought one.) “Molls, Gracey, Meig, Molls, Meig, Molls, Molls!!! I, Molls Berrie am officially President of Sugar and Spice!!!” she said. It went like that the rest of the day. “Gracey, Meig, Meig, Caroline, Caroline, Gracey, Caroline, Caroline!!! Caroline Rich is the winner!!!” Caroline was Vice President. “Gracey, Meig, Gracey, Meig, Gracey, Gracey, Meig, Meig, and the final vote… Gracey Warrenstein is the winner!!!” announced Molls.
“Don’t be sad, Meig, I hoped for you as Vice President.” I said.
“Yeah, Me too!” exclaimed Caroline.
“Thanks, You guys, but maybe advertiser will be fun.” Meighan said as she walked off.
“Hey, Meig! Don’t you want a ride home?” yelled Molls. Meig kept walking. “I’ll take that as a no.”
Chapter Three: Meig’s Mom
Meig was upset for the next couple of days. Too upset to be upset about the Sugar and Spice election.
One day at school, Meig told me what the matter was. Her mom had had a wreck on her way to work after the Sugar and Spice election and was knocked out unconscious. She was conscious now but needed lots of therapy and medication.
Woe is me! The big school play is coming up and guess whose mom signed their teenage daughter up for it? Miss Teresa Warrenstein, That’s who. Oh, and when I tried out who do you suppose I got? Juliet. And who do you think is playing Romeo? Morry Allen. Yes, and do you recall the little scene at the end? If I mess up, I will die.
Yesterday at Rehearsal I asked Mr.DeMimsy if I could get out of the play and let my backup do it. He said he would think about it, but I think he’s going to “think about it” over the phone with my mom.
Chapter four: The Lights, Camera, Action!
We were at the water park in Louisville and a Reporter was reporting someone who was a talent show organization director. After he was done with his commercial, we saw Brittany and Claire walk up to him. They did a dance. Then he started shaking their hands. “C’mon you guys, we’re trying out. Now.”
We got the part in the talent show!!! We are actually going to be in a Kentucky wide talent show! Today is the day of horror, victory, and sadness. We are going to that talent show to win!
When we arrived at the talent show, we ran inside and changed into our sequined red, white, and blue outfits.
We saw Brittany and Claire. “Oh, Claire, repaying my debt, your hair is the ugliest thing with that pink outfit!” I said as I pointed to her red hair.
“And now… A great duet and friends… Brittany and Claire!” said the announcer. I peered through the curtains. “Guys, they’re going to be tough to beat.” I said.
“Finally. Last but not least, give it up for Sugar and Spice!” said the announcer. We walked on stage. “Oh, yea!” Molls sang. “America!” came the trio. “Ameri-i-i-ca! Old Glory standing there, showin’ anything but despair-ai-air!” Molls sang again. “America!” Came the trio. We sang the song to the very end.
“And the third place award goes to…. Mikey Lionel the soloist!” the announcer placed a yellow ribbon on Mikey’s dance suit. “Second place goes to… Brittany and Claire!” he placed a red ribbon on each of them. “And now… The moment we’ve all been waiting for…” said the announcer. “Guys, if it’s us, burst out of the curtains and say ‘Amer-er-er-ica!’” I said. “We give you your first place winner… Sugar and Spice!!!!!” we burst out of the curtains and said, “Amer-er-er-ica!” We each got a blue ribbon.
We have a great life, and a great family, but there is one thing you always need to remember, believe in miracles, they happen.
