Hey, would you like to make more friends! Or just read a story about friends! Well, this is the story you might want to read. GO ON!!!!
Lisa and Tommy were best friends. They were both eleven years old. They literally grew up together. Lisa and Tommy were both only children. They were also neighbors.
Lisa and Tommy were of course in the same class. Their teacher was Mrs. Thompson, a stout lady with a big nose and her eyes were huge and beady. Her nose was pointed like an elf and her mouth (don’t even talk about it) was long ands narrow. She was the meanest teacher there was, constantly shouting and punishing students for no reason.
Tommy and Lisa sat at the back seats and were excellent students. They never got in trouble. Mrs. Thompson picked on the “front freaks” as she called it. It was just her way of saying front students. Today they had chemistry, arithmetic, spelling and writing, science and social studies. “Boring, boring, double boring for spelling and writing, triple boring for science and social studies……. Did I get all of them?” Tommy asked Lisa.
“Check, check, check, check, check and check, yup all of them down,” replied Lisa, as if consulting to an invisible list. Usually this would have sounded so much fun. But today, was “Mrs. Thompson Round Day”. This meant that today all the teachers would be replaced by Mrs.T. Now this sure was gonna be a miserable day. Tommy and Lisa took their binders quickly and went down to the chemistry room. They started their potions, listening to the drawling voice of their puffy teacher. They were happy though because Mrs.T hardly knew any chemistry. “Oh ...where… what is … where …..” she mumbled. “Need any help, Mrs.T” Lisa asked in a mocking kind voice. “Oh could you give some of that yellow liquid in that bottle?” the teacher asked. “Sure thing,” Lisa replied, winking at Tommy. She took the sulfuric acid, instead of the real potion she was supposed to give.
“Thank you, my dear. I suppose you have a good mind after all!” Mrs. T exclaimed thankfully.
But the minute she added the sulfuric acid to her potion…..POOF!! The whole potion blew up. The only thing you could see on Mrs. T ‘s face was black soot. She was too humiliated to do anything so she quickly wiped her face (but of no use) and tried to hopefully go on with her potion.
Tommy and Lisa were bursting with laughter but luckily they covered their hand over their mouth to muffle it.
Next was arithmetic in the classroom. By then the teacher had washed out most of the soot from her face, but she still had a face outline of soot.
Finally, after many hours of those miserable studies, they went home. Lisa went to Tommy’s house for a sleepover. Boy, they sure were going to have fun. Suddenly Tommy went to the phone and came back looking very grim. He told Lisa her mom was very sick and she would have to go home. Lisa was very miserable.
Soon Tommy’s mom dropped Tommy and Lisa off at Lisa’s house. Tommy’s mom whispered in Tommy’s ear “Have fun!”
Now, why did she say that? Bet you can’t guess!
Lisa and Tommy entered the beautiful house near Lisa’s private owned lake.
It was awfully dark inside. Suddenly Tommy switched-on the light and shouted”SURPRISE, LISA! Happy Birthday!!” And as he switched on the light, Lisa saw all the balloons and streamers hung on the wall. And in big golden letters a sign said “HAPPY BIRTHDAY LISA”. Then Lisa’s mom and Dad came from behind a curtain and wished their darling daughter a very happy birthday. She couldn’t believe it. She turned to Tommy and asked “How did you do this?” “Oh I didn’t do this by my selves, you know,” his eyes twinkled as he said it “they helped me!” The minute he said “they” people started coming from behind the cushions. “Carla, Sandy, Jennifer…..I can’t believe this!” Lisa squealed.
“That’s not all!” all the children said and they pulled back a huge cloth and behind it was the biggest cake Lisa had ever seen. It had all type of chocolate icing and multicolored sparkles. It was all decorated with sugar pearls and the cake itself was made of chocolate chips. At the bottom of the cake was a huge load of presents. ‘THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR ALL THIS! You guys are the best!! The party was a blast and they all had a wonderful time.
