A Trip to Mackinaw with my Fourth Grade Class

Mackinaw May 8th 2002
I had to get up at 2:00am.

Summary notes-
4:00am- Today is the 8th we left for Mackinaw at 4:10.
4:55- We stopped to fix the bathroom door.
7:04- We stopped at McDonald’s.
8:08- We left McDonald’s.
8:45- We had to stop the other bus has a tire problem. (Good Year)
9:10- We left the tire place.
9:44- We stopped at a rest area.
9:51- We left the rest area.
11:06- Watamala Park.
11:23- Leave Watamala.
11:27- We get to our hotel.
11:28- We stopped for lunch.
12:42- We’re off to our first tour the Mill Creek Sawmill.
12:47- We’re at Mill Creek.
2:31- We’re leaving Mill creek Sawmills and learned how cooped wood.
2:35- We get to our hotel.

Summary-
Today I learned lots of things. When we went to Mill Creek I learned the different names for saws they were soreing and nuding. I also learned how to chop wood and how sawmills work they were a lot better then just cutting. Next we went on a guided tour at Colonial Michilamac and saw a lighthouse that was cool.

May 9th Summary-
Today I learned lots of things. I learned that the fort there was built of limestone! Did you know that the island is exactly 8.10 miles? There’s lots of monurer on the island. It takes 20 minutes to get to the island by fast boat. There’s a lot of lilac’s on the island. On carriage ride was really cool. There’s no cars allowed, on the island. I learned that you can dry your gloves on a blow dryer.

May 10th Summary-
Today we went to Clonial Michillamack and I learned a lot. I learned to dress warm in cold weather. Also I learned how to set off a musket and a cannon. I know how to cook on a fire. You should always be on the lookout in a battle. I’ll never join the battle field. What did you like? I know how to open gun powder. This is a really fun place to go.
