You know
The two words
That I want you to say
They're simple
And meaningless
On their own
But together
If you were to ever
Take my hand
And lead me into the rain
Smile with your crooked smile
And stare into my glassy eyes
To twirl my hand above your head
And pull me to you
In a hug
Or if you were to take me
To a meadow
On the first day of spring
Tickle me until I fall
To the ground
And you fall down
Next to me
You turn to face me
And I turn to face you
Your run your hands through my hair
And smile
You pick the prettiest flower
In the entire meadow
And put it in my hair
Or if you were to take me
In my backyard at night
Looking up at the stars
That shine
And compare me to them
Maybe
This could happen
If you'd open your eyes
And stop staring at her
Forget about her
And say the two words
That I want you so badly
To say
To look me in the eyes
And form the two words
On your lips
"You're beautiful."
Even though I'm not.
