The girl squinted through the swirls of snow, carried by a cold wind. She pushed her hair out of her face, widening her eyes as she saw the amazing sight before her.
The eyes of a grey wolf stared back at her: piercing, sorrowful, and wild. As the girl gasped, the wolf lifted its muzzle to the dark night sky of snow clouds, and howled.
