What Your Favourite Colour Really Says About You

Basically, I've been reading a bunch of articles on colours lately since I want to become a psychologist when I'm older (I wouldn't be surprised if I changed my mind again in the next few months) and...well, I'm kind of bored right now, so I figured I'd post a list of what your favourite colour says about you. No-I didn't make any of this up, I've actually been reading a bunch of books and magazines lately.

Here is a list of seven different colours that you might favour.

Orange. According to National Geographic Kids Almanac 2010, the colour orange represents power. In chromotherapy, orange can help boost your health and it can make you hungry, since orange is quite close to yellow (more on that later). If you're favourite colour is orange, you would most likely be a very kind person who is rarely sick. Because orange can make you hungrier, people whose favorutie colour is orange will probably tend to cook (and eat. Who doesn't eat their cooking?) a lot more than others.

Pink. According to National Geographic Kids Almanac 2010, pink represents love. Big surprise. People who like the colour pink are often very cheerful, and loyal. They also look out for their friends a lot. Expressing what's on your mind is no problem for pink-lovers (I have no idea why) since they are very efficent and can speak with a high degree of efectiveness when explaining their thoughts to someone.

Red. According to National Geographic Kids Almanac 2010, red represents danger. The book also says that it can ;excite the senses and activate blood circulation'. Hmm...no wonder I was always so excited to see Elmo when I was kid. People whose favourite colour is red are often the types of people who enjoy taking risks and being daring. Red lovers are also very good leaders. I'll also add that red is a colour that can make you hungry. Apparently, red and yellow are the best choices when it comes to advertising food since both colours make food look so appealing. Hey, guess what colour McDonalds is?

Yellow. According to National geographic Kids Almanac 2010, yellow represents happiness. Again, big surprise. Yellow lovers are also very optimistic (because of this happy trait) and well organized. You like to make people happy (especially when they're sad) and yellow lovers are often very competetive poeple. According the NGKA2010, 'your competiveness and organizational skills help you succeed'. Yellow represents victory as well as happiness. Maybe I should change my favourite colour to yellow (Yellow is at the bottom of my list of favourite colours and all my yellow lover friends are all cheery it's annoying and always succeed in EVERYTHING. Okay, I'll stop complaining now)

Purple. According to...well, I think you know where by now. But anyways, purplre represents wealth. This probably dates back to the middle ages when mauze was first invented (that was in medieval times, right?) and only the wealthy could afford such a colour. 'Purple is also associated with art and music'. Apparently, people who love purple have great taste in anything ranging from clothes to music. From food to friends. Purple poeple (gasp! That's alliteration :o) are also very creative.

Blue. Ahh, one of the most popular colours in the world. Blue is also the colour that's least apetizing. Blue represents...you guess it. Calm. And so, check this out. BLUE REPRESENTS PEACE AND LOYALTY!!! BLUE PEOPLE ARE USUALLY WELL LIKED BY A LOT OF PEOPLE. YIPPEE! PEOPLE LIKE TO COME TO YOU WHEN THEY'VE GOT A PROBLEM AND YOU'RE USUALLY GLAD TO HELP THEM. WOOPEE! :D Did that make you not calm? Wow, I'm reading it right now, and I'm bored. :S Moving on...

Green. My favourite colour besides grey, black, white (and pink since that's the best choice when it comes to shopping for slippers). Green represents growth and nature. Apparently, it also calms people down. green poeple supposedly spend a lot of time outside (although that's not true for me. Maybe b/c it's my fourth favourite colour?) and love to try out new things (okay. I am SO not green) People who are green never reallt take things seriously.

So that's a list of what your favourite colour (if it's up there) says about you. This is just a psychology thing and these may not apply to every single person since everyone is different and unique in thier own way.
