"Thank you for coming, Carly, Charlotta." Lorraine said, her hand resting on Jonathan's. A picture of Annika hung above our heads. "Annika was Carly's friend, Lorraine. We must respect that." Mother insisted. Lorraine and Jonathan nodded. "I'll make some hot chocolate. Jake is coming soon." he said. Jake was Jonathan's five-year-old son from his first wife, Lilliana. Jake was shared custody, thus he had him on weekends. Suddenly, a knock rapped on the door. "Ooh, that's him." Lorraine said, getting up and opening the door. Jake's dirty blonde hair was covered by a Thomas the Train cap. He carried a matching backpack and jacket. "Annika!" he shouted. "Daddy, where's Annika? Annika is always fun to play with, Daddy-" Mother and I exchanged glances. How would they tell a five-year-old, who never experienced death, that his stepsister was dead?  I didn't think they would.

"Er, Jakey?" Jonathan asked as Jake shrugged off his coat. "Yeah, Daddy? Hey Daddy, look at my Yakimotoman action figure! Mommy bought him with her boyfriend Trace." he beamed, thrusting it in Jonathan's face. "That's very nice. But Jakey, Annika is sleeping for a long time. Don't wake her up." he replied. Jake's face fell. 'Oh." he sighed.
