Ember eyes glow
Your body rigid
You know I know
that you know
that I know
You're there.
Soft grey hair
Slinking like waves
As you move nobly
among the jagged caves.
Sharp ivory paws
Treading softly
Over the wet mud
Noiselessly.
Black snout turns
Faces me
I stand, unmoving
Man and Beast
Civilized Wild
We each back off
Both Nature's Child.
