Biography

WOW... READING A RANDOM, OUT-OF-THE-BLUE BIO? YOU MUST BE BORED OUT OF YOUR MIND. I PITY YOU......

Hi! You've just made the mistake of entering Shelby's bio. Let me just make this clear: I am not responsible for sudden illness, loss of spine, sudden sproutation (Is that a word? It is now a word.) of new limbs, la-ugly-faces-disease (that's going around a lot in my school.) or sudden redness of your hands, feet, face, bellybutton, lamp, taco, toenail, etc. :) Enjoy, though!

Name: Shelby

Nicknames: French Fry (I'm tall and slim, like a french fry.) Giraffe (Obviously, I'm tall.) Shell-Bell (mom calls me that) Shelby Lynn-loo (Grandma calls me that) and Shelb. Also, I have names that make fun of my last name, but my mom has rules with the internet, so I can't post that.... I understand, I don't want any creepers stalking me, you know?

Joined: Oh gosh.... *counts fingers as she goes through the months.* I think in August? Perhaps late July, I'm not really sure. It was sometime in the summer of 2010. So about 11 months.

Quirky talents: I can play a clarinet or a piano by ear. Just give me a song and I'll play it at least half-note accuracy. Currently, I am mastering "The Colors of the Wind" from Pocahantas and "A Whole New World" from Aladdin. I can only play Disney songs, though. Probably because I watch the movies a lot.

Also, I knit. Like... a lot. It keeps my hands busy. My friends joke that I'm a granny.I wanna learn how to crochet too, but I'm too busy to learn.

I tap my teeth as I walk through the halls to the rythm of how fast/slow my feet are moving.

I can write stories, but I can't tell stories to little kids. Like if they told me to make up a story for them, I'd have to tell a Greek myth. I can hardly even do that while holding the kid's attention.

Uhm..... I don't really bite my nails anymore..... oh! My erasers all have smiley faces drawn on them and a shirt, tie and pants. In the middle are their names. So far, I have Mr. Eraser, Eric, Erastus, Eracious, Ernie and Eracio. :) I consider them the family of erasers that live in my purse.

I don't have much of a social life. I'm usually in the library, writing in a spiral.

A few facts:

I'm a fourteen year old girl with some whacked out friends. Every day I wish this website was a school- hence the reason I'm writng "KP High". Next year I will be entering the twisted labyrinth of what people call... DUN  DUN  DUN!!!! High School..... *faints*

I had liver cancer when I was one. I know, shocking. But I think it was meant to be good, because now when I publish a book, the nurses told me that I could have a book sale there and give my book to the "book nook" for kids to read. Also, so the parents whose kids are sick could read. A book written by a kid that survived what their own kids had gone through? RIGHT ON!

Um.... Well... I love (LOVE) it when it rains. Especially when it's thundering and lightning outside. And when I'm in school and it's raining? Hot dog!! Perfect lazy day weather.

I'm really tall. 5'9'' and counting. There is only one other person taller than me and that's a girl named Grace.

I play clarinet and I'm going into Marching Band next year. I'm really excited/nervous, because the marches they do look hard and if one person messes up, which would be me with my luck, the entire band messes up. And the school fight song sounds like a circus tune.

I'm a big believer in after writing a full story, that it doesn't nessasarily mean it's readable. I have to go back and totally edit, add, take off, all that junk. That's why I don't post that much... once I have a full book COMPLETELY FINISHED, then I'll try posting it here on KidPub.

My Faves:

Okay, I know that on every bio, people have a "Faves List". So I'm going to make this short, sweet and to the point:

Books: Percy Jackson, The Heroes of Olympus, The Shadow Theives, Vampire Acadamy Series, Cirque du Freak (stopped reading it at book eight, though... I was warned about what happened in book nine and refused to read it....) and then some other ones that don't come up off the top of my head.

Broadway Musicals: I love 'em. You can put me in front of any musical, and I would fall in love, however, I have some favorites. Wicked (of course, who DOESN'T like Wicked?), Young Frankenstien, You're a Good Man Charlie Brown, The Music Man, Oklahoma, and again, probably some others that don't come straight to my mind...

Movies: Orange County- it's all about this kid who's inspired to write and does whatever he can to get into Standford to get a degree in creative writing. That's about it, besides Dadnapped, which has a writer as one of the main characters....

Anything else?: I LOVE (love) DISNEY. Not Hannah Montana, Shake It Up (I cannot STAND that show.... horrible acting, good dancing.) or anything like that, I'm talking Pocahantas, Aladdin, Hercules, those classic movies. They make me laugh, even when I'm 14. :) It reminds me that Disney, once upon a time, actually had some talent.

It just occured to me that the "Faves List" was anything BUT short, sweet and to the point. I fail at stuff like that, but I guess that means I use detail so that's a good thing right?

Uhm.... I'm the host of a newscast that's (supposed to be) held every Wednesday and Sunday, but I've been very lacking on that.... it just got hard and I just got frustrated. You know how that is, don't you? Haha ;)

Also, I'm writing this thing called "You Know You're a Writer When You...." and I'm posting them as they happen to me, so one might automatically pop up out of nowhere.... watch out fo' them on the Newest Stories page!!

Also, every Sunday, I have proclaimed Perry Day, in honor of the man that origionally made the site we know as KidPub. :) At the end of each post, and I saw that some people have made "TEAM PERRY" as their signature- loyal KidPubbians, right there!

Well, I can't spend all my time on a biography, here! I have a story to write! See yah!

******Some look at the glass as half-empty, while others look at it half full.... put this in your bio if you dont' stop to think about what the volume capasity of the stupid glass is and you just drink it. You're thirsty, and your brain gets easily mad at you.*******
