My eyes slowly flutter open, and to be honest, I feel awful.
my vision is fuzzy, and my head feels like a boulder, that's too heavy to hold up.
I squint, and scan the room taking in my surroundings.
But, all I see is fuzzy objects, and figures.
"What the-.." I whisper.
"Oh, Thank God, you're ok!!" I hear a voice squeal.
"Where- Where, am I..?" I ask, Ugh, my voice sounds like I have cotton balls in my mouth.
I blink a couple times, and thankfully, my vision begins to clear up.
Instead of seeing fuzzy objects, like before, I see the big picture.
I grimace, When I finally relize im in the hospital.
And there, sitiing a few feet from me, is my mom, completely balling.
"Oh! Oh honey!" She wails.
I wince, and Inhale sharply.
"Mom..Why am I here?"
She grabs a tissue, from her purse, and dabs at her eyes.
She sniffles, and finally, manages to muster a couple words.
"You..You fainted" She says with a quivering voice.
Then she completely loses it again.
I put a comforing hand on her arm.
She looks at me, with tears in her eyes, and gives me a forced smile.
"Why Are you crying?" I query.
She waves her hand in a," forget it", gesture.
I raise a eyebrow.
You're not entirely crying for me are you?" I respond, in a knowing voice.
She shakes her head.
"Just rest, you have enough on your plate." she says, not quite looking at me.
I clench my jaw.
"Mom! What happened!?"
Finally, she looks at me, and begins to cry, once again.
"I- I could'nt imagine...Losing you.."
I roll my eyes, "I just fainted mom, chill."
"You Hit your head, very hard, I was scared..." She sniffles again, and clears her throat. "What if you forgot me?"
"Yeah, well, you're kind of hard to forget." I reply. Maybe, that was kind of harsh, but it's too late.
"But, anyways, that's not the point." I stare off into the distance. "What really happened, That you don't want to tell me?"
She lets out a shaking breath, with tears rolling down her cheeks.. "Lilith..."
"What about Lilith..?" I stare at her in horror.
She runs her hand through her hair, and locks eyes with me. "She never made it home last night."
