Martha looked around nervously, hoping that nothing too bad would happen, but even if something did happen, Jane had a knife. Hey, that was worth something, right? Martha asked Jane, "Uh, are you sure that this is a good idea?"
"Now that I think about it, it probably wasn't, but whatever."
"Just 'Whatever'?!"
"Hey, it's not like we're going to die, right?"
"I sure hope not."
The pair went deeper into the forest, when a rumbling sound came... but from where? Martha looked up and saw a huge shower spigot. "Jane? I think that it's going to rain."
"Hm? What makes you say that?"
"Well, the big shower spigot certainly might have helped."
And yes, there was a shower. A meteor shower.
Jane and Martha screamed and started running back the way they came out. As their feet pounded against the ground in the dark forest illuminated by glowing mushrooms and lizards, they heard a growling from the exit. A bear was running for them. However, this bear wasn't normal. It had three heads and twelve feet, with seven claws on each foot. Jane grabbed her pocketknife and threw it at the bear, but the knife just bounced off of the bear's tough hide. Martha ran a different direction, while Jane grabbed her pocketknife and started running after her. They quickly approached another exit, as monkeys swung across the trees, attempting to grab the two. The pair both saw a river in the way of freedom, just wide enough to jump across... however, it wasn't there before! Jane leapt over the river, and Martha followed.
It was sunny here.
There was soft grass.
It was light.
Martha said, "Jane?"
"Yeah?"
"How about... we never do that again."
"Agreed."
Martha looked up into the sky. The shower spigot had disappeared, and, strangely enough, so had the forest. As the pair started walking home, Martha pondered on these things, and then grabbed her phone. She scrolled through the pictures she had taken, but all the pictures of things inside the forest were gone. Like they were never there.
How strange, Martha thought.
