in Hawaii(I can dream, right?)

I promised to stop lying,

But my fingers were crossed behind my back

Warding off the weight of the promise

You don't think I'll lie again

You trust me, I guess

But my lies are all that protect you

Protect me

So how can I stop?

I'll tell you that she's not hurting me

And she isn't

She hasn't

But I'm always hiding the truth,

Covering it with a thick veil

Stiched with the heaviest lies and worst broken promises

Each thread a piece of my broken heart

It's not like I want to lie

I'd never want to lie

Lying to you is like ripping my own heart out

And you believing it is having you do it for me

I don't want to lie

I don't

But sacrifices have to be made

Anything to keep you safe

Because I love you more than everything,

And you love me more than anything

I need to keep you safe

So I need to lie

I'm sorry
