The True Meaning of Valor [The Twister, Round One]

I have no idea what genre this is.

I don't know that it's super inspirational.

I'm not sure it's much of a decent entry.

But alas, it is below.

Does your average person know what courage is?

Your average person might give you the dictionary definition, “Courage is the quality of mind or spirit that enables a person to face difficulty, danger, pain, et cetera.”

But the real question is, do they know what they’re really saying? Probably not. Your average person has an average life, and an average life generally does not involve chasing “bad guys”, standing up to evil, charging at an assassin, questioning good and evil, enduring suffering beyond agony, or giving your life to save countless others.

If you’re reading this, you’re probably wondering ifI know what courage is. If you’re reading this, it also means I’m in grave peril, and you are about to discover the true meaning of bravery.

Before I can explain anything, I have to give you a warning: You may be bold. You may be tough. You may be strong.

This has nothing whatsoever to do with chivalry.

When you read a situation in a book, where instead of standing to fight, the character backs down, and you think, “Aw, c’mon, I would have totally stayed and kicked that guy’s butt,” as if it was that easy.

          I wish.

It’s not easy to show valor. It’s impossible to be fearless. And it’s definitely not always the right choice to fight.

You think you know a thing or two about dauntlessness? You’re wrong. You’ve(hopefully)never been in a life-threatening situation. You’ve never faced evil. You are on Square One. You don’t know anything.

But when the situations come, as I’m sure they will now, you can’t give up. You can push through anything if you put your mind to it. If you keep your mind sharper than the evils, if you keep your spirit more valiant than your opponent, you have the will to succeed.

And when you do, you will have discovered the meaning of valor.

What did you think? ^-^
