Christianity is a lot kinder than typically percieved because when some people think of Christianity they think of homophobia and cissexism and sexism and stuff but i mean i'm not homophobic or cissexist or sexist and i'm a Christian. The religion actually teaches a lot about forgiveness and doing good things and of course a very important and key part of Christianity is salvation and faith. you can go to gotquestions.org to read answered questions and even ask your own (you might want to do research other than that though because it's possible some of their answers could be inaccurate. you should especially check other sources on matters like salvation because it's important to have a proper understanding.).

but it's up to you bruh

You're totally right, blossom! The thing that keeps a lot of people away from the Bible is of all the sexism, racism, and homophobia in Christendom. This is completely hypocritical; God spoke out against those things on many occasions.

This is why Jehovah's Witnesses specifically do NOT allow those terrible things in our congregations and personal lives.

"God is not partial, but in every nation the man who fears him and does what is right is acceptable to him," says Acts 10:34, 35. This clearly means that no one should be discriminated against.

1 Peter 2:17 says we should, "Honor men of all sorts," regardless of their lifestyle choice. While the Bible does not approve of homosexual acts, it does NOT say that ANYONE should hate gays as people or harm them. Ephesians 4:31, 32 says about violent acts, "Put away from yourselves every kind of malicious bitterness, anger, wrath, screaming, and abusive speech, as well as everything injurious." (If you want to read a very CLEAR and ACCURATE article on what the Bible really says about homosexuality, I suggest you read this short article here, and/or ask me about it.)

And on the topic of sexism, Genesis 1:27 states about the equality of men and women, "And God went on to create the man in his image, in God’s image he created him; male and female he created them." Meaning, BOTH were made "in God's image"--created with the ability to reflect God’s qualities. And the abuse of women was NOT put into motion by Jehovah God. God simply foretold that males would dominate females because of their sinful nature. (This is also a very complex topic, but there are a LOT of scriptures that mention exactly how women should be treated with respect and kindness just like how any man should be treated.)

Also, it's up to everyone as individuals to decide what religion they'd like to follow, or even if they want to follow one at all. It's great that people find comfort in religious beliefs, and it's VERY commendable that they're searching for answers. But, many religions teach completely opposite things, and many religious leaders are hypocritical. PLUS, science and the Bible do NOT disagree with each other. Truth does exist. And there are many false religions. While it's still up to us to follow whatever we'd like, it's still a good idea to identify the truth and follow it, don't you think?

(I'm NOT trying to start a debate/fight, though, don't get me wrong! O_O It's just that the Bible is very, very important to me and I know that it's extremely helpful in a lot of different ways. <:^D I have depression, and, while the Bible obviously doesn't cure it, reading and understanding it is VERY encouraging and helps me tremendously. Plus, it gives me hope for the future--the world's future, and my own.)

I actually quite like reading all these posts about religion. c: I'm not entirely religious myself (I'm, as Chris Martin puts it, an all-thiest), but I do find religion fascinating. I plan to read the Bible soon, as well as the Quran and the book about Norse gods my sister got me. I know that believing in all gods contradicts a lot of what some religions say (i.e., there is only ONE God), but religion isn't that big a part of my life– it's not as if I run from temple to temple praying to various gods every Sunday. c: I do believe that there is/are a sort of 'high power/powers', but I don't know what that might be. Quoting Chris Martin again (for the second time aha but he's brilliant <33), "I definitely believe in God. How can you look at anything and not be overwhelmed by the miraculousness of it?" and "I'm always trying to work out what 'He' or 'She' is. I don't know if it's Allah or Jesus or Mohammed or Zeus. But I'd go for Zeus."

But I think that religion definitely helps many people, as you pointed out above. Whichever religion helps the person is completely up to them.

Omigosh I Got A Short Notice Invite To A Fancy Ballet Class And I'm So Nervous Because Our Normal Classes Are Super Casual And Now I Have To Wear A Bun And Work On Positions And Wear A Leotard And Crap I Don't Know If I Can Do This Without Having A Mental Breakdown Later. I Also Have To Wear My Hair Up, Which Freakin' Sucks If You Are Me Because My Hair Does Not Stay In A Bun And The Way It Feels Right Now Makes Me Want To Cry/kill Someone. So Expect A Rant About How Not Bad This Class Is Gonna Be, But As Of Right Now I Have No Idea What To Do And Why I Agreed To This. I'm Not Even On Pointe Shoes Because I Love Dancing But Not As A Professional. I'll Be Stuck With Little Kids To; They'll Probably Do Way Better Than Me. I Have Like No Time To Study The Positions And Stuff And My Flexibility Kinda Disappears During The Summer Time So I Have No Idea Why The Heck I Wanted To Do This. I'm Gonna Lose It.
