yesterday my ela teacher hosted a carnival and we all had our own booths to run
and the booth next to mine invited me to submit the end of an incomplete story they had for a contest to win 20 bucks and i found out she's been freaking out about who to give the prize to because she loves the stories two of the people submitted and i found out I'm one of the two??? now I'm really mad because the other one is her best friend and i feel like i should have written more >:l

and i wrote that the anonymous caller who had a very familiar voice says they found his grave all dug up and his coffin wasn't in there. i also wrote that it was 4 years since that call and the case remained a mystery

so yall. I got a newish undertale au that I call auwndbdgisaj (abbreviated "That AU where Nobody Dies but Doctor Gaster is Still a Jerk") in which none of the human children that fall into the underground die, but the Handplates AU still sort of happens-
with the deviations that Gaster is trying to prevent Asgore having to kill his own kids-
and that when sans pushes him Chara is there to catch him-
and that after that everybody loves papyrus but only Chara likes Sans since she really understands him and what he's going thru-
and that eventually frisk falls and things go real south real fast-
but the main reason I love this au is because this version of Chara is SO GOOD and Sans and her are bffflllssss

(walking Frisk towards New Home)
Chara: I know youuuu… I walked with you once upon a dream... I know youuuu...the gleam in your eyes is so familiar a gleam...comedian, come on
Sans: (eyerolls) and I know it's true that visions are seldom what they seem...

I have loads of headcanons about their appearances, do you have thoughts?

ugh all I can manage to write now is rambles and romantic stuff about my ocs (well technically they're mine and ena's; ena came up with one of them and I came up with the other and they're the physical embodiment of teenage angst it's AMAZING) but I really want to write, and at the same time I can't be motivated to do anything if anyone gets what I'm saying.

Anyways just so that I can finally get something down on paper ("paper", but whatever you know the term) I'm gonna ramble on about my characters again. No spoilers really, since I don't even know if I'm going with my current plot (I'm always constantly changing it), but the one constant in my story are these two adorable lovebirds.

So Quinn and Toshiyuki are assassins, and they're almost equally matched in every way except for magic/sorcery, which scored Quinn the equivalent of a kinda 'captain' position among the assassins, while Toshiyuki is only the vice captain.
Tosh is kinda bitter at nature and doesn't really have any friends among the assassin group; he's the closest to Quinn because they have to work closely on missions, but he's overall more of an outlier and causes Quinn quite a bit of trouble, whether intentional or not. He kinda has a inferiority complex I think, and compares himself to Quinn all the time, even though he isn't actually worse than she is and they can be said to be equals.
Quinn plays more by the rules and keeps up a friendly facade well enough with her subordinates- she doesn't smile much around them, but is generally kind. However, her subordinates are mostly older than she is. Her mother died early on and her father works for the court/power, so she started her training earlier than others normally would, and was pretty gifted in fighting and whatnot, which made her advance quickly, drawing resentment from classmates that turned out to be her subordinates, so there's this whole hostile vibe going on, and as a result she's pretty lonely most of the time.

Tosh and Quinn have this sort of tentative relationship? Like Quinn wants to be his friend, except she's too proud to admit that, and also because Toshiyuki will gives her enough of a hard time that she doesn't want to open up to him and risk anything at the same time. Tosh has been hurt by friends before and realizes that he's not as good as any of them, so he doesn't really want to get hurt again, and also because of his pride.

But it makes sense! Kindness doesn't come easily to Undyne, even though she loves people. She's rough. Mettaton unjustly leaves Napstablook in the dust and is threatening to do the same to Alphys. I don't know what's going on with Muffet, but Sans is a liar liar pants on fire canonically (or at least the keeper of the biggest secrets in the Underground). If they did kill those human children, maybe in doing so they murdered a little bit of the virtue in themselves.

(in my head, it's always been Asgore who killed the kids. if others were involved, they only captured them then sent them to him. his, therefore, is the highest lv in the underground barring war veterans)

I find those kinds of au a bit...confusing...but interesting things can be done with them. I was very proud of myself for recognizing all the characters you used! Papyrus wouldn't... on purpose. From Patience's items (Toy Knife and White Ribbon), it seems like they might've been pretty young. And Papyrus could totally accidentally kill them, he's pretty strong. I think he might actually have higher ATK than Undyne, which is... (I don't want him to have done it though... Sans also uses blue attacks?)
And I think in True Pacifist, Mettaton hires Blooky as his sound assistant, which I think is adorable lol

No-- Sans wouldn't have made the promise. That makes sense. Also, Papyrus is definitely that strong. By the time we meet him in the game, he has enough control of himself to stop fighting you when you're at 1 hp. He might have gained that control after accidentally killing Patience. (But I don't think so. Papyrus is considerate enough that if he had accidentally killed Patience, he probably wouldn't be eager to fight a human again.)

It's an undertale prequel (read: me getting veerryyy curious about why Sans is so depressed yet would stand up to you anyway, also about the vague hints Flowey drops about what happened before you fell)

I think where this theory breaks down is that more than one character can use the same kind of attack, and one character uses more than one kind. If I remember correctly, Asgore can do both orange and blue. So can Papyrus??? (It's been a long time since I've played oof.)

Papyrus can't use orange attacks as far as I know. (I love how we're just completely nerding out on Undertale lol) Yeah, you're right about that. Maybe the monsters learnt the attacks/soul modes from the humans, and taught them to other monsters? Oh, and Undyne does say that Papyrus is "just too innocent and nice". So yeah, maybe Sans isn't as lazy as we thought...?

Idk, I think Sans is just as lazy as he looks in the game. But I think he hasn't always been that way.

In one of the neutral endings, if you've killed some people but not Papyrus, Sans lies to him and tells him they're on vacation. Maybe, if Papyrus did accidentally kill Patience, Sans told him they were just knocked out or something?

Even with a very naïve and trusting read of papyrus I don’t know if you could conceal that from him. In the undertale verse it seems very...noticeable...if you kill someone. Like, would his LOVE increase? Would he feel that?

He might, but it takes more than one EXP to gain LOVE, doesn't it? And at the start of the game, there's not really anything there to indicate you're actually killing them. He might not know what it means. And, also, he's really strong, surely he'd have to have gained LOVE at some point?

Depends if LOVE is the only way to become strong. And though you're right that Papyrus might not understand what it means, I feel like his instincts are good enough that he'd be deterred from fighting a human again

I don't write as much as I used to.

It's kind of funny how most of what I wrote two years ago, in 2018, which is when I was last active, was about gay 11-year-old detectives and space (aliens, especially were sort of my thing). Yeah, nothing like that anymore.

Now, I for the past few months have been trying to get my keyboard more used to typing for hours on end. I am writing again, just not on here.

I will think about putting a link somewhere to the websites I am extremely active writing on, if anyone is interested. This isn't said with pride, but if I do this, don't be surprised if you're offended by something. I have a pretty big mouth. Confront me for my words, I deserve it.

It will take me a while to think about though, since I made it clear in my signature that I said a lot of edgy shit when I was younger and I do not want to be associated with that anymore. It's just not me. I'm not going to specify on anything, but I may have told lies. I may have offended the people in ways I can't imagine doing again (note: I mean direct, intended offense to a certain community in specific)

I'll update this 'rant' with info on the more juicy stuff I'm writing soon.

personal confession: i really lucked out with my bio family yet am drawn like no one else to found family and maybe it's because every human being deserves what i have yet does not have it.

why do i keep writing people who aren't proud to carry their parents' names? sammie paper can't help but think of himself as the product of mistakes even though he himself isn't one. he has to remind himself all the time. tata beraht ditched his father's name for his foster brother's wife's maiden name, because no other berahts were around to throw shade at him for it. maybe it's because i am so proud of my name and my home that i'm making a special effort to recognize that that isn't everyone. and if you don't have a name and a home you can find one and build one.

maybe i'm trying to build family and community for those that have none.
