No, it's not allowed. I asked my English teacher, and they said that by using an "I" statement, your switching your story to first person.

Not really, just change it, or not at all, most'll just tell you what you did wrong but not mark you down.

What? Fragmented sentences? I...wow we didn't learn that in eight grade. We're relearning how to write sentences...in English II. Seriously, and the sentences suck...

Kiwara 10-29-2009 07:48 PM

Hang on a sec, what type of essay where you writing? Typically an essay is a serious piece of work, and fragments(if I know what they are, and I think I do....probably.) are more for fictional writing. An essay is an explanation, not a story.

Rachel 10-29-2009 07:59 PM

Any story we write and hand in is called an essay. Even if it actually isn't an essay.
BTW: Just posted chap. three of the Jadis/Arrik story... you were asking about it over the summer, and now it's finally done... yay.:D

Kiwara 10-29-2009 08:00 PM

Yep yep, read it and commented already.

Everything you write and turn in is an essay? That sucks.

Rachel 10-29-2009 08:01 PM

'Kay, thanks for commenting.
And yeah, everything except for the journals, which are due every quarter.

Kiwara 10-29-2009 08:03 PM

What type of English? Just regular eighth grade English?

Crap I should be working on my prologue. Stupid procrastination....
