They don't necessarily mean anything, they're like letters, they can't make a word by themselves, they're just used in the language.

I actually managed to sort of kind of infer the meaning of I think two different kanji one time. ^_^ I think it was "two cents", but there was also English there. I have no idea how to type it! :D :p
