So technically he was the origin of Sin.

(*whispers*) I am super late in responding...I'm so sorry. X_x Today was crazy busy.

Also all those may have been rhetorical questions, but, I'm going to answer them in case they weren't. ^w^

You are perfectly correct! :D He did create Adam, Eve, and everything else in the universe. And while God is omniscient and omnipotent, there is one thing the Bible says God cannot do. Titus 1:2 says, "God...cannot lie." Because God is perfectly righteous and just, he cannot ever tell a lie. Other than that, all things are possible for him. In fact, his personal name, Jehovah, means "He Causes to Become," which points to the fact that he's the ultimate provider, protector, father...basically anything and everything we need God to be, he can be. (But, I digress...)

God gave Adam and Eve the same thing that he gave the Angels, and that is free will. Unlike the animals, which are mostly driven by sheer instinct, and do not have to obey any kind of direct commands from God, he wanted us to serve him by CHOICE. He wanted us to obey his commandments out of love and respect. And, back in the beginning, mankind was given only ONE rule. It's found at Genesis 2: 16, 17. God told them, "From every tree of the garden you may eat to satisfaction. But as for the tree of the knowledge of good and bad, you must not eat from it, for in the day you eat from it you will certainly die." Do you think that giving them ONLY ONE very simple rule was wrong to do? Especially when they could have eaten from LITERALLY any other tree in Eden?

And, he did not put that tree there to tempt them; that would be an unloving, horrible thing to do...setting them up for failure was NOT Jehovah God's intention. Would a loving parent encourage their children to undertake a project with a marvelous future, knowing from the start that it was doomed to fail? Would that loving parent warn them of harm, while knowing that they had planned everything so that the children were sure to die? Is it reasonable, then, to think God would do that? Matthew 7:11 says, "Therefore, if you, although being wicked, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more so will your Father who is in the heavens give good things to those asking him!"

And, of course, God would never purposefully set up this kind of failure for the entire human race. Psalms 5:4 says, "For you are not a God who takes pleasure in wickedness." Psalms 33:5 says, "He loves righteousness and justice," and also mentions God's "loyal love."

The tree of the knowledge of good and bad was merely a symbol of their obedience. God did NOT know ahead of time that they definitely would sin. He merely gave them the option to either serve him, or sin and not serve him. He wanted us to have free will, so we can enjoy our lives better and get closer to him. Wouldn't you rather have someone be your friend by choice instead of forcing them to? ^_^

Yes but technically he created the temptation. It wouldn't have existed.

Don't worry about replying late!
But I thought he was omniscient? That means he should know that they were going to sin.
Yes, but why did he create that tree? What was the purpose? Why would he create sin? Of course I wouldn't want to force someone to love me, but I didn't, as God is said to have, create them. I wouldn't make all my characters like someone unconditionally because that would be unrealistic, but he'd be defining what's realistic. It won't be forcing them because it'd be in their NATURE, as he created them. Replace the liking part with sinning?

I mean, I like the part of religion where it's to do good and love everyone and stuff, and as my friend said 'religion probably brought more people together than broke them apart' but if I look past that and onto the deity it doesn't really seem right to me.

God didn't create temptation, but He allowed it to happen.
