Gay as a term is more frequently being used as an umbrella term, whether this is right or wrong, it is being used in these other contexts.

To say an ace person is homosexual is flat-out wrong, to say a homoromantic ace is gay arguably depends on whether that person is comfortable using it to identify themselves.

It's whether gay solely refers to homosexual now or if is has undergone this development and language change. It's not an official shift yet, but it is being used in other contexts as I said, so potentially in time could come to be a broader term. Who knows? Im not word expert

I might not feel sexual attraction to someone but I'd still want to date them and kiss them and be in a romantic relationship with them. And even though no holy book explicitly says this is wrong it doesn't mean that people who follow some religions think this is wrong and hate me for that. Also I've spent the last two years or so hating myself for wanting to date girls?? I still hate myself for it tbh. Or does that not count because I'm repulsed by the thought of sex. So I've gotten shit from religious people telling me I'm gong to hell because I like girls, and also I wouldn't have to have sex with a girl to be sent to conversion therapy. Yes, if I were ace/aro I wouldn't have to be scared of some religious people and the thought of subversion therapy. But I'm not ace/aro and therefore still get hate for this. Also even if I were ace/aro I would still belong in the LGBT community, however I couldnt identify as gay.

Okay so my opinion on everything:
Aroaces should be included in the community, but if you're cis and exclusively attracted to the opposite gender, no matter how, you're straight.
