honey why do you get so down on yourself?
you sound so condescending to yourself like always
you sound pretty cool to me except for when you do that
so don't do that please because it's always more fun to be confident
even if you don't feel confident just pretend and people will appreciate and respect and like you a lot for it and then you'll gain confidence and it won't seem so hard anymore
besides it's the internet if you fuck up big time you can always delete your account and get a new one whereas in real life you'd have to drug your parents and hike out to canada where you'd get a job as a junior maple syrup vendor or something and live out the rest of your days wearing a fake mustache for no apparent reason idk

Bear ... Why'd you change your bio?

EmmaR 07-08-2013 09:40 PM

1. You weren't particularly annoying.
2. WE. ALL. WERE.
2.5. ALL OF US, AT ONE POINT, WERE COMPLETELY CLUELESS DORKY NEWBIES and you can either hate that part of you or laugh at yourself. I prefer to laugh at myself. In my first post I literally CREATED A THREAD because I didn't know what threads were and POSTED ABOUT HOW I PLAYED CHAMBER MUSIC THAT DAY. Then, I tried to join an NES that was super far along in the story line but I didn't understand that there were multiple pages so the really nice people in the NES (Stara, Redhead, ErinMarie, lots of people who aren't on anymore) had to twist the plot so I could join. Now, that is SUPER EMBARRASSING and sure, yeah, I'd like to erase that from ever happening. But I can't. So I laugh at my awkward newbie times and thank the lord that I finally know my way around after 3 years.
3. MORAL OF THE STORY: EVERYBODY IS A NEWBIE AT ONE POINT, AND EVERYBODY EMBARRASSES THEMSELVES AT ONE POINT. BUT THE POINT IS THAT YOU GROW OUT OF IT AND YOU CAN'T SPEND TIME THINKING ABOUT HOW ANNOYING YOU MIGHT'VE BEEN. INSTEAD, THINK ABOUT HOW NOT ANNOYING YOU ARE NOW.
3.5 BECAUSE EVERYBODY ON THIS FUGGING WEBSITE IS AWESOME AND I LOVE ALL OF YOU.

This has been a PSA brought to you from the ranting mind of Emma.

I just wanted to know, when are you not counted as a newbie?

It's arbitrary, really. I was probably a newbie for like a year, but I'm a particularly awkward one (I was also very young, and that contributes to it a bit) and for some it only takes a small amount of time to get accustomed.

Kinda like what Emma said, it really depends on your maturity/experience/reputation. Some people are newbies for a few weeks, some for a few months, some for a few years (like, if you leave for months at a time and barely anyone knows you). If you get to know the website quickly, make friends easily, and are generally a pleasant KPer, people won't consider you a newbie as much as people who clog, get defensive, are obnoxious, and annoy a lot of people.

Well then, that makes me a newbie. ^-^

Nah, man, you're a middle-aged. Not a newbie, yet not an oldie. You're cool. *fistbump*
