*hugs* It's okay, Heather. He'll be okay, and so will you. Just listen to some music. Loud music. :\ I don't know what to say. Try to occupy your mind with random games. Bubble Tanks Tower Defense, Bloons Tower Defense 3, Color World Orgins, Super Santa Kicker. That kind of thing. It'll be okay. *hug hug* |
I know how you feel, pluzzle. I'm not great at empathy, part and parcel of Asperger's, but I hate people too! I hate to say this, but people really, really scare me quite a bit. Crowds and parties especially unnerve me. But I can't escape, because I have a reputation at school, and I have to uphold it.
My parents have given up trying to make me like people. It's impossible to do so. I prefer my own company, so long as I have books and films and everything else that entertains. The internet is good for communication, it keeps actual people out of my way. I have a genuine fear of people, because of past experience of idiocy (I fear stupidity too and cannot watch films such as Elf, Mr Bean and some assorted 'teenage' films). Just ignore the moronic behaviour of your parents. |

Did you just... describe me? |
My parents just don't understand.... ._.
ALL of my friends are on the dance team. Like, I swear ALL of them are. So I told them I was going to try out for the team next year instead of playing soccer. I've played soccer for ten years, and I want to try something new. And plus, I hate my teammates except my friend, Lindsay. They immediately give me the third degree, asking WHY I want to be on the team. How it will benefit when it's time to sign up for college (I'm in eighth grade -_-). And I told them I didn't want to play soccer anymore and wanted to try something new. Before I was even done explaining, they told me the REAL reason I wanted to be on the dance team was because my friends are. That's partially true, but I also want to be on the team because I love to dance. I have every single Just Dance game and play it pretty much daily. I make up routines all the time. I want to feel like I'm in a second family, which is what the dance team is like. I want to do something I'm passionate about. At soccer, my teammates would yell and curse at me and gossip behind my back and pretend like I didn't exist because I was an underclassmen. One of my friends even ditched me to hang out with the highschoolers. I didn't belong on their "team", if you even want to call it that. They're all mean to me and I'm not going to put up with it anymore. Plus, highschool classes are much more difficult than middle school, and if my parents expect me to be able to study, do my homework, and attend daily practices and games, they're crazy. BUT, dance practice is only Monday and Wednesday and then Sunday after church. Perfecto. Of course it's a tad expensive (200 dollars to pay for clothes, dance clinics, etc.), but it will be a good experience. My dream is to go to the University of Kentucky and be on their dance team, and the girls on the dance team got to go MEET the UK dance coach and she taught them a dance. :O I was so jelly when I found out. I just want to fit in. And have fun. Not everything is about getting into college. I want to ENJOY my highschool years, and being bullied by my upperclassmen soccer teammates is everything BUT enjoyable. I just wish they would understand... |
